Sabrina Greenlee, Domestic Violence Survivor & Advocate, to Speak at Fort Bend Women's Center Annual Luncheon

August 11 2023

Sabrina Greenlee, Domestic Violence Survivor and Advocate, will be the guest speaker at the 6th Annual Fort Bend Women’s Center Healing and Hope Luncheon at the Houston Marriott Sugar Land on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

The luncheon is Fort Bend Women’s Center’s annual keynote event, providing education and information in support of domestic violence awareness and advocacy. Fort Bend Women’s Center is the only domestic violence and sexual assault emergency shelter and crisis hotline in Fort Bend County, providing support services such as counseling, advocacy, and case management for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the Greater Houston Area. Last year, Fort Bend Women’s Center served 2,001 survivors with 633 being children.

Sabrina Greenlee is a nationally celebrated community activist, author, inspirational speaker, and domestic violence survivor who has dedicated her life to facilitating women’s growth and evolution. Her story is filled with cycles of abuse, teen pregnancy, and a violent attempt on her life that left her blind. Praised for her impact on women and survivors, Sabrina has appeared on ESPN’s Cover Story and USA Today alongside her son DeAndre Hopkins, NFL football player and wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans. Among the distinguished honors and accolades awarded to Sabrina for her committed work are the 2020 Houston Humanitarian Awards, 2021 Iconic Woman Award from Fresh Spirit Wellness, and 2022 Honoree for the Essence of a Masterpiece event, celebrating women making power moves.

“We are thrilled to have Sabrina Greenlee speaking at our Healing and Hope luncheon. Her story is both intense and inspirational…she is a strong and brave woman. My hope is that this year’s luncheon will bring encouragement to survivors and show our community of supporters how they can help provide the healing and hope that survivors need,” said Vita Goodell, Fort Bend Women’s Center CEO.

The Presenting Sponsor of the Healing and Hope Luncheon is Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA), a leading supplier of pharmacy chemicals, pharmacy equipment, and pharmacy compounding education based in Houston.

“PCCA believes it is a tremendous blessing to be in a community with Fort Bend Women’s Center as a resource. For many decades now, we have considered it an honor to provide any support we can to serve this incredible organization and its purposes. The Women’s Center’s team of staff and volunteers continue to create opportunities that pull our community together to serve victims needing refuge, resources, and recovery from violent domestic crime. The Healing and Hope Luncheons are just one of those great opportunities and it is with pride that PCCA joins others in our community to sponsor and lift up Fort Bend Women s Center in magnifying its compassionate mission,” said Jim Smith, President of PCCA.
