REMINDER: Katy Residents Invited to Join the Keep Katy Beautiful Fall Garage Sale on November 2nd
The City of Katy is gearing up for the much-anticipated Keep Katy Beautiful Fall Garage Sale on Saturday, November 2, 2024. This event invites residents to declutter their homes while promoting sustainable practices through buying and selling secondhand items. Registration for the garage sale is currently open and will be available until 5 PM on Tuesday, October 29. Residents can secure their spot by visiting www.cityofkaty.com/garagesale.
This garage sale provides an opportunity for Katy residents to not only clear out their closets and garages but also to discover hidden treasures in their neighbors' sales. The event aligns with Keep Katy Beautiful’s mission to promote the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle, and rebuy, encouraging community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Participating homes will be mapped out and made available to the public by noon on Thursday, October 31, allowing shoppers to plan their routes in advance. Each registered sale will be included on a Google Map published on the City website and shared through social media platforms, making it easy for residents to locate sales.

Keep Katy Beautiful has been a pivotal force in enhancing the community since its inception in 1993. Founded by Mayor Skip Conner, the organization operates as an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful. Its mission focuses on fostering a clean and litter-free environment while educating the public on recycling, landscaping, tree planting, and waste reduction, while the board collaborates with local student and civic organizations to amplify its grassroots efforts.
Over the years, Keep Katy Beautiful has spearheaded numerous beautification projects funded through city budget allocations, private donations, grants, and recognition from the Governor’s Community Achievement Award. Notable projects include the bronze geese entrance features, Harvest Plaza, and the landscaping around the Depot and Caboose, as well as the installation of old-fashioned streetlights throughout the city and the development of The Katy City Park Arboretum.
As the Fall Garage Sale approaches, residents are encouraged to participate by either hosting their own sale or shopping around the community!
