The plan, which began in the Fall of 2023, is the result of a nine-month comprehensive process aimed at setting a shared vision that improves the quality of life for all residents in Katy East. The Precinct 4 Planning department has tirelessly examined the community's current land use, mobility, infrastructure, and economic development challenges and opportunities.

But "All in 4 Katy East: A Precinct 4 Community Plan" is not just a strategy devised by city planners. At its core, it is a grassroots initiative, driven by robust public engagement. It reflects the collective aspirations of the residents, seeking to enhance not just infrastructure and sustainability, but also justice, safety, education, and economic opportunities.

This initiative was carefully crafted in four significant phases. It started with Visioning, a stage focused on understanding the community's strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. This was followed by the Community Assessment, which examined the existing conditions. The insights from this assessment informed the subsequent phase of recommendations, where potential operational changes, capital projects, partnerships, or ordinance changes were proposed. The last phase, Report Production, will culminate in a final document that consolidates all findings and recommendations.

Head over to the Steve Radack Community Center at 18650 Clay Rd., Houston, TX 77084, to be a part of this historic community event. It’s a chance to come together as a community and celebrate the future of Katy East.
