Precinct 3 Begins Bridge Maintenance Series

April 13 2023

Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey’s Office begins repairs this week to the Louetta Road Bridge over Kothman Gully and Oxted Lane Bridge over the Flood Control District Ditch K137-00-00 in Spring.

Repairs include addressing erosion issues and repaving slopes to ensure safety and extend the life of the bridges. Both bridges will remain open during construction, and drivers can expect to see traffic control signs in place. Work is expected to be complete by the end of April.

This repair project is a part of a series of three bridge improvement packages that cover 47 bridges across Cypress, Spring, Humble, and Crosby, totaling $1 million funded by Precinct 3. The Precinct’s engineering and maintenance team assessed bridge locations based on deficiencies identified in TxDOT’s Bridge Inventory, Inspection, and Appraisal Program (BRINSAP) report, which is released every two years.

Proactively scheduled maintenance projects like this help reduce long-term costs that may accrue from neglecting infrastructure, as well as maintain safety standards for critical structures such as bridges. Commissioner Tom Ramsey and his team proudly continue their commitment to maintaining Precinct 3’s 6,750 lane miles of roadway for you and your loved ones.
