Planning to Install a Swimming Pool? Here's What You Need to Know About Nottingham Country MUD Requirements

March 20 2024

If you're considering adding a swimming pool to your home within the boundaries of Nottingham Country Municipal Utility District (MUD), there are important steps to follow to ensure compliance with district regulations. Before diving into construction, homeowners are required to complete a Residential Pool Permit Application by clicking here. This form is essential for initiating the approval process and ensuring that your pool installation meets the district's standards.

Once the Pool Permit Application is completed, it should be submitted via email to the District's operator, Si Environmental, LLC, at builderservices@sienv.com. To ensure prompt processing, include your account number in the subject line of the email. Upon receiving your submission, a representative from Si Environmental will reach out to you to schedule an inspection and address any questions you may have regarding the district's requirements for pool installations.

One crucial aspect that the district oversees is the proper connection of pool drains and backwash systems to the sanitary sewer system. This ensures compliance with sanitation standards and helps prevent potential issues related to drainage. After the installation of drains, homeowners must notify the District's operator to schedule an inspection. During this inspection, the operator will verify that the connections meet the district's specifications before authorizing service for the swimming pool.

It's important to note that there is an inspection fee associated with this process. As of now, the fee stands at $50.00, payable by the individual responsible for installing the swimming pool. This fee covers the cost of the inspection and ensures that the pool meets all necessary requirements for safe and compliant operation within the Nottingham Country MUD.

By following these guidelines and working in cooperation with the district's operator, homeowners can navigate the process of installing a swimming pool smoothly and ensure that their new addition complies with all relevant regulations. This not only promotes safety and sanitation but also helps maintain the integrity of the community as a whole. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this important step of your pool installation project.
