As Katy’s west side continues to grow at a rapid pace, a familiar family favorite is preparing to make its debut in one of the region’s most anticipated commercial developments. Olive Garden will open a new location at 29077 Katy Freeway Katy, TX 77494 in Texas Heritage Marketplace, a mixed-use retail hub situated off I-10 and Texas Heritage Parkway near Jordan Ranch.
Scheduled to begin construction in April 2026 with an expected completion in November, the upcoming Olive Garden restaurant will span 7,828 square feet. The project’s $4.2 million budget includes new construction, full-site development, landscaping, parking, and utilities, helping to create a standalone destination for casual dining within the expansive development footprint.
A National Favorite Finds a Home in West Katy
Part of the Darden family of restaurants, Olive Garden has long been recognized for its Italian-American cuisine, generous portions, and warm hospitality. With more than 2,100 locations across the United States under Darden’s various brands—including LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Chuy's, Eddie V's, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House—Olive Garden remains a cornerstone of affordable family dining.
The upcoming Katy location will join a handful of other Olive Gardens in the Greater Houston area, including the eastern edge of Katy at 21220 Katy Freeway. Regional growth statistics reveal a staggering 83% population increase within the development’s trade area between 2020 and 2025, with over 150,000 residents now living within a 5-mile radius.
The area’s demographics point to a vibrant and affluent consumer base. The average household income within five miles of the site exceeds $190,000, and housing developments in the vicinity continue to expand at record pace. With over 12,000 future home units planned nearby and annual home starts exceeding 2,000, the demand for retail and dining continues to climb.
