October Brings Steady Patrol and 600+ Calls for Service in Nottingham Country

November 13 2025

Residents of Nottingham Country can rest a little easier knowing that Harris County Precinct 5 Constable deputies remained highly active and responsive throughout October 2025, matching September’s total of 617 calls for service. With the same level of engagement as the previous month, deputies continued to prioritize neighborhood safety, deterring crime through ongoing patrols and community-based support.

According to a November 12, 2025 report, the month’s most significant activity involved 512 “contract checks”—routine proactive patrols that serve as a vital tool in maintaining visible law enforcement presence and discouraging potential criminal activity in the area. These patrols helped ensure that October saw no major crime spikes in Nottingham Country.

In total, the four dedicated deputies assigned to the Nottingham contract handled 929 calls across Nottingham and surrounding areas. Their efforts contributed to a countywide total of 263 arrests, including 60 for driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Holiday Travel Safety and Home Watch Tips

With the holiday season fast approaching, Precinct 5 encourages Nottingham Country residents to utilize the free Vacation Watch service. By submitting a request online at constablepct5.com/vacation-watch or calling dispatch at 281-463-6666, homeowners can have deputies check on their properties while they’re away—offering extra peace of mind during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.

Additionally, officials urge residents to stay vigilant about home safety, especially when renting, leasing, or selling their property. Squatting incidents have increased in the region, particularly in vacant homes. Law enforcement reminds residents to perform thorough background checks and monitor properties regularly. Thanks to recently approved legislation, civil deputies now have greater authority to remove squatters in certain legal situations.

Parking Enforcement Update: What You Need to Know

There’s also been clarification around parking enforcement—a common concern in many neighborhoods. Deputies have reiterated that while parking is generally allowed on public roads over five years old, vehicles left too long or without valid registration may be considered abandoned. Key reminders include:

  • Vehicles cannot remain parked on roads longer than 48 hours.
  • Expired registration and long-term stationary vehicles may be tagged.
  • Once tagged, a vehicle may be towed after 48 hours, or sooner if it’s a hazard.

Need to Report Something?

For any non-emergency assistance, residents should call the dispatch line at 281-463-6666. In case of emergency, always dial 9-1-1. Additionally, Precinct 5 offers a convenient online reporting form found here for certain non-urgent matters.

As Nottingham Country continues to grow, the dedication of Harris County Precinct 5 deputies ensures that safety and peace of mind remain priorities for the community they serve. Whether it's handling suspicious activity, making arrests, or simply patrolling the streets, the local constables aim to be a dependable and visible force for good.
