Now Open in Tamarron: McDonald’s Celebrates Grand Opening with Family Fun, Familiar Favorites
Katy residents in the Tamarron and Firethorne area have another family-friendly, quick dining option: the brand-new McDonald's located at 3010 FM 1463 Rd. is now officially open at 3010 FM 1463, Katy, TX 77494. Families, kids, and fast food fans joined the fun on Saturday, November 8, 2025, for a community-focused grand opening celebration filled with games, music, a red ribbon cutting, and a special appearance by McDonald’s beloved character, Grimace.
Developed by The Glaser-Swift Organization, this 3,686-square-foot restaurant was built from the ground up as part of a $750,000 investment in Fort Bend County. Construction was originally slated to begin in July 2024 and reach completion in December 2024, according to official permit filings. The new location includes a dual-lane drive-thru system located behind the building to improve traffic flow and speed up service for customers on the go — a major benefit for the busy surrounding neighborhoods.
Modern Design, Classic Menu
The new Tamarron McDonald’s reflects the latest in restaurant design and technology from the global brand. Some of the enhancements include:
- Digital menu boards inside and at the drive-thr
- Mobile ordering and curbside pickup through the McDonald’s app
- Streamlined drive-thru with two ordering lanes for faster service
- Sleek, modern interior and exterior seating options

Guests can enjoy the full McDonald's menu, including all the familiar favorites like the Big Mac, Chicken McNuggets, McCafé drinks, and seasonal offerings such as the McRib or Holiday Pie, when available. The restaurant also participates in the company’s sustainability initiatives with eco-friendly packaging and energy-efficient operations.
A Welcome Addition to the Katy Community
Although this is the first McDonald’s inside the Tamarron community, it joins a growing list of locations serving the Katy area, including others along on FM 1463 and FM 1093 near Cross Creek Ranch, on Westheimer Parkway near the Falcon Ranch community, and near Katy Mills Mall. Each location plays a local role, supporting school events, community fundraisers, and sports team partnerships.
Since its founding in 1955, McDonald's has become one of the most iconic restaurant brands in the world, now with over 13,000 locations across the U.S. The new Tamarron location aims to brings that legacy of familiarity and convenience to even more families in the 77494 zip code and surrounding areas.
