Nothing Bundt Cakes Tomball Celebrates Grand Opening With Free Bundtlets, Community Discounts and Texas Children’s Benefit
Tomball families gained a new place to pick up birthday cakes, teacher treats and last-minute desserts earlier this summer. Now, Nothing Bundt Cakes in Tomball is turning its official grand opening into a week built around the community it hopes to serve for years to come.
The bakery, which opened its doors June 28 at 14083 FM 2920 Road in Tomball, is celebrating its grand opening Aug. 17-22 with discounts for local workers, a Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting, a fundraiser benefiting Texas Children’s and a Saturday morning giveaway that could keep some customers stocked with Bundtlets for the next year.
Coming as Tomball families and educators settle into the back-to-school season, the celebration gives residents several reasons to stop by throughout the week — whether to pick up a dessert, support a local charitable effort or simply welcome one of FM 2920’s newest businesses.
“We hope everyone will come out as we have the chance to recognize our neighbors, give back, and to celebrate,” said Gunnar Moore, director of operations for owner Sweet Delights LLC and a native Houstonian. “Although not far from Houston, we love the charm of Tomball, which is rich in history and entrenched in community.”
Grand Opening Week Brings Daily Appreciation Discounts to Tomball
The celebration began Monday, Aug. 17, with a series of Community Appreciation Days recognizing groups that play a role in everyday life across Tomball and the greater Houston area.
Each designated group can receive 20% off in-bakery cake purchases on its appreciation day by showing a badge, identification or uniform.
Teachers and school staff were recognized Monday, Aug. 17. The remaining schedule includes first responders and military personnel on Tuesday, Aug. 18; healthcare workers on Wednesday, Aug. 19; city employees on Thursday, Aug. 20; and aviation employees on Friday, Aug. 21.
The timing puts the bakery’s celebration squarely in the middle of back-to-school preparations, when families are returning to routines and teachers and campus employees are beginning another school year.
Tomball Chamber Ribbon Cutting Set for Thursday
Nothing Bundt Cakes will mark another milestone at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, when the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce joins the bakery for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The event formally welcomes the new business to Tomball several weeks after it began serving customers from its Four Corners-area storefront along FM 2920.
The location had been in the works since earlier this year. Plans called for the approximately 1,551-square-foot former restaurant space to be converted into the bakery through a substantial interior renovation ahead of its summer opening.
For residents who have watched new restaurants, retailers and service businesses continue to arrive along FM 2920, the completed bakery adds another national brand to a commercial corridor serving both Tomball and nearby Northwest Harris County communities.
Friday Sales Will Help Texas Children’s Patients and Families
Friday’s grand opening activities will extend beyond cake sales.
On Aug. 21, the Tomball bakery will donate 20% of its net sales to the Texas Children’s Patient Assistance Fund, which helps support the work of the hospital system’s social work team and provides assistance to patients and families in need.
For customers, that means an ordinary Friday dessert run can also contribute to an organization serving children and families across the Houston region.
The fundraiser reflects a broader community component of the Tomball grand opening, pairing the excitement surrounding a new local business with support for families facing difficult circumstances.
First 100 Saturday Guests Can Receive Free Bundtlets for a Year
Saturday is expected to bring one of the week’s biggest draws.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 22, the first 100 guests age 18 and older will receive a Free Bundtlets for a Year punch card, redeemable at the Tomball bakery for one Bundtlet per month for 12 months.
Those guests will also receive a free Confetti Bundtlet.
The offer is available in the bakery only. Customers visiting throughout Saturday will also have an opportunity to spin a prize wheel as part of the grand opening festivities.
For anyone searching for the Nothing Bundt Cakes Tomball grand opening, free Bundtlets in Tomball or weekend family activities near Tomball, Saturday will be the centerpiece of the week-long celebration.
From Two Home Bakers to More Than 800 Bakeries
While Nothing Bundt Cakes is new to Tomball, the company’s story stretches back nearly three decades.
The brand was founded in 1997 by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz, two friends who began baking Bundt cakes together in Las Vegas. What started with cakes made in home kitchens eventually developed into a specialty bakery concept centered on a familiar dessert presented with distinctive frosting, decorations and gift-ready packaging.
Now based in Dallas, Nothing Bundt Cakes has grown to more than 800 franchised and corporate bakeries across more than 40 states and Canada, making it the nation’s largest specialty cake company.
The Tomball bakery joins an established footprint in the Houston area that includes locations serving Cypress, Spring, The Woodlands, Katy, central Houston and the Louetta Road area.
Nothing Bundt Cakes was also named the No. 1 favorite brand in Technomic’s America’s Favorite Chains survey in both 2024 and 2025 and has received recognition through Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 and the Franchise Business Review Franchise Hall of Fame.
What Is on the Nothing Bundt Cakes Menu?
The brand’s approach is built around a single type of dessert offered in enough sizes, flavors and designs to work for everything from an individual treat to a large celebration.
Cakes are baked daily using ingredients including real eggs, butter and cream cheese and are available in several formats.
Bundtinis are cupcake-sized cakes commonly ordered by the dozen for offices, classrooms, parties and events. Bundtlets are individually sized cakes, while traditional 8-inch and 10-inch Bundt Cakes are designed for larger gatherings.
Customers can choose among a variety of flavors, including familiar favorites such as Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Red Velvet, White Chocolate Raspberry, Lemon, Confetti and Carrot, along with seasonal selections.
The company is especially recognizable for its signature cream cheese frosting, often piped down the sides of the cakes in thick petals. Cakes can also be ordered with decorations, toppers and gift options for birthdays, graduations, baby showers, weddings, holidays, employee recognition and other occasions.
The company offers about 40 cake designs and 10 flavors, giving customers options ranging from an uncomplicated dessert pickup to a decorated centerpiece for a special event.
That flexibility is part of what has helped Nothing Bundt Cakes build its niche. Rather than operating as a full-service restaurant or broad traditional bakery, the company has remained tightly focused on Bundt cakes and the celebrations — large and small — that bring people through the door.
A New Celebration Option Close to Home
For Tomball residents, the arrival of Nothing Bundt Cakes means another familiar option is now available without a trip farther into the Houston area.
The Tomball bakery is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
For Nothing Bundt Cakes, this week is about officially introducing itself to Tomball. For the community, it is a chance to welcome a new neighbor — with a ribbon cutting, a charitable cause and, for some lucky Saturday morning customers, a year’s worth of cake along the way.
