New Wingstop Set to Open in Katy’s Spring Green Corridor Fall 2025

May 30 2025

Wingstop, the fast-casual restaurant chain known for its crave-worthy wings and signature flavor combinations, is bringing its distinct menu to Katy’s Spring Green Boulevard. The newest location, currently under construction at 1721 Spring Green Boulevard in Fort Bend County, is scheduled to open its doors in mid-October 2025.

According to permitting records, the project will involve an interior tenant fit-out spanning 1,428 square feet. Construction is slated to begin at the end of July 2025, with completion expected by mid-October 2025. The restaurant will be strategically situated near the WoodCreek Reserve, Firethorne, and Grayson Lakes neighborhoods—three growing residential communities that could find this new addition a welcome dining option.

A Flavor-First Dining Experience

Wingstop’s menu is built around its cooked-to-order chicken wings, available in both classic and boneless styles. Patrons can expect bold favorites like Atomic, Mango Habanero, Garlic Parmesan, and Hickory Smoked BBQ—flavors that have helped define the brand’s identity. In addition to wings, the location is expected to offer crispy chicken tenders, seasoned fries, Cajun corn, ranch dip, and chicken sandwiches tossed in any of the brand’s signature wing flavors.

With a focus on quality and customization, Wingstop has cultivated a loyal following by offering consistently flavorful meals suited for individuals and families alike. “We’re not in the wing business. We’re in the flavor business,” the company emphasizes—a philosophy that has propelled its steady expansion.

Wingstop’s Growth Trajectory

Founded in Garland, Texas in 1994, Wingstop started as a single buffalo-style chicken wing restaurant. The brand began franchising in 1997 and has since become one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the United States. By 2002, Wingstop had served one billion wings, and today, it boasts over 2,000 locations worldwide.

Its continued expansion into communities like Katy reflects the brand’s appeal among both customers and franchisees. Wingstop’s combination of proprietary recipes, quality ingredients, and a customer-first approach continues to attract entrepreneurial operators and wing enthusiasts alike.

Local Impact

As Katy’s population continues to grow, the addition of Wingstop offers more than just a new dining option—it reflects the area’s increasing commercial appeal. The Spring Green corridor has seen a steady influx of businesses catering to both longtime residents and newer families moving into the area.

Once open, the Katy Wingstop will join a regional portfolio of locations delivering flavor-packed meals and late-night cravings to local residents. Whether picking up a quick lunch, ordering in for game night, or satisfying a late-evening wing run, residents near WoodCreek Reserve, Firethorne, and Grayson Lakes will soon have a new go-to spot for all things wings.
