New Popeyes Restaurant Coming to FM 2920 in Tomball Near Inverness Estates
A new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is coming to the Tomball area, bringing the brand’s iconic crispy chicken and Cajun sides to a growing pocket of northwest Harris County. Construction is set to begin in early 2026 on a new location at 18003 FM 2920 Tomball, TX 77377, just east of Inverness Estates and just minutes from major neighborhoods along Cypress Rosehill Road.
Slated to Open by August 2026
According to public construction records, the upcoming Popeyes Cypress Rosehill location will be a newly built, 2,540-square-foot quick-service restaurant. Construction is scheduled to begin in early January 2026, with an anticipated completion date of August 3, 2026. The privately funded project is expected to cost approximately $1 million.
The restaurant will be located along FM 2920, one of the area’s busiest corridors, which connects Tomball to Cypress and serves as a hub for retail, restaurants, and residential growth. Its proximity to neighborhoods like Inverness Estates, Hayden Lakes, Wildwood at Northpointe, and Lakes at Creekside makes it a convenient new option for families and commuters alike.
A Spicy Southern Legacy
Popeyes has been a staple of Southern fast food since 1972, when the first restaurant opened in the New Orleans suburb of Arabi, Louisiana. Known for its boldly seasoned fried chicken, flaky biscuits, and signature sides like red beans and rice, the chain quickly gained a loyal following for its flavorful Cajun-inspired menu. The introduction of the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich in 2019 created a viral sensation and helped cement the brand’s status as a major player in the competitive fried chicken market.
Today, Popeyes has more than 3,900 locations worldwide, with dozens across the Greater Houston area, including busy sites in Cypress, Spring, and Magnolia. The new FM 2920 location adds to the brand’s continued expansion in northwest Harris County, following the area's rapid residential and commercial growth.
