New Mongolian Stir-Fry and Sushi Restaurant Planned Along I-45 Near Conroe
A new dining option is taking shape along the busy I-45 corridor between The Woodlands and Conroe, and it comes from a Texas restaurant brand that has been serving build-your-own Mongolian stir-fry and sushi for more than a decade.
Super Yummy Mongolian Stir Fry & Sushi has filed plans for a new restaurant at 19053 I-45, Suite H, in Shenandoah, a location just south of Conroe and within the broader Conroe-The Woodlands dining market. According to an August 15 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the company plans to transform an existing retail space into a restaurant through an approximately $650,000 interior renovation.
For residents who regularly travel I-45 for shopping, work or dinner, the project could add another locally familiar restaurant option to one of Montgomery County's busiest commercial corridors — particularly for families or groups trying to satisfy very different cravings at the same table.
Super Yummy Plans 5,600-Square-Foot Shenandoah Restaurant
The state filing lists the restaurant at approximately 5,600 square feet, with construction currently scheduled to begin October 2, 2026, and conclude May 2, 2027. The scope calls for an interior remodel and change of occupancy from retail use to restaurant use.
Those dates should be viewed as a construction timeline rather than a confirmed restaurant opening date. TDLR filings are commonly made during the planning stages of commercial projects, and schedules can change as permitting, construction and other preparations move forward.
Still, there is another noteworthy sign that the Shenandoah restaurant is more than just an early concept: Super Yummy's own website already lists a Shenandoah location at 19053 I-45, Suite H alongside the brand's other Texas restaurants.
What Is Super Yummy Mongolian Stir Fry & Sushi?
Super Yummy's approach centers on something that has long made Mongolian-style stir-fry restaurants popular with families: diners largely decide what goes into the meal themselves.
The restaurant's signature build-your-own Super Yummy Bowl lets guests select a starch such as rice or noodles, add proteins including chicken, beef or shrimp, choose vegetables and seasonings, select sauces, and then hand the bowl over to be cooked on the restaurant's large stir-fry grill.
That customization has been part of the brand for years. Super Yummy was already operating in the Spring area by 2014, and a 2015 profile reported that the company then had restaurants in Spring and Tomball. At the time, management pointed to the combination of Mongolian stir-fry and sushi as a way to accommodate families whose members might not all want the same kind of meal.
More than a decade later, the concept still revolves around that variety.
Mongolian Bowls, Sushi Rolls and More on the Menu
Despite the name, Super Yummy is not limited to stir-fry.
Its current menu includes build-your-own bowls, classic stir-fry combinations, sushi and sashimi, sushi rolls and hand rolls, chef's special rolls, appetizers, soups, salads, desserts, children's selections and sushi combinations.
For diners who would rather skip the build-your-own process, existing locations also offer prepared stir-fry combinations. Current menu examples include teriyaki chicken, Mongolian combinations with chicken, beef and shrimp, vegetable-forward selections, fried rice dishes and noodle bowls.
That mix could give the future Shenandoah restaurant fairly broad appeal — from someone stopping in for sushi to parents looking for a customizable dinner where children and adults can build very different meals.
Super Yummy describes its cooking process as using a large, high-temperature round grill, with diners able to watch their chosen ingredients being stir-fried after assembling a bowl. The restaurant also pairs that interactive format with traditionally prepared sushi and sashimi.
Super Yummy Has Expanded Beyond Its Original Houston-Area Footprint
The planned Shenandoah restaurant would join a growing group of Super Yummy locations around Texas.
The company's current website lists restaurants in Tomball, Houston along FM 1960, Nacogdoches and Lake Jackson, in addition to the forthcoming Shenandoah location.
The Houston FM 1960 location represents another recent investment by the brand. As reported previously by My Neighborhood News, renovation work was scheduled to begin in mid-July 2025 and conclude by the end of January 2026, transforming the former Kirin Japanese Seafood & Sushi Buffet into Super Yummy Mongolian Stir Fry & Sushi.
For Montgomery County diners who already know Super Yummy from Tomball or other parts of Greater Houston, the Shenandoah location would bring the concept considerably closer to the Conroe and The Woodlands area.
Why the Location Matters for Conroe-Area Diners
Although the restaurant's official address is in Shenandoah rather than Conroe, its placement along I-45 puts it directly within the commercial corridor shared by Shenandoah, The Woodlands and southern Conroe.
That distinction matters for residents searching for new restaurants near Conroe, new restaurants in Shenandoah, Mongolian stir-fry near The Woodlands or sushi restaurants along I-45. The cities may have separate boundaries, but residents routinely cross them for dining, shopping and entertainment.
The project also reflects the steady flow of restaurant investment into the I-45 corridor, where new concepts and established brands compete for diners from communities throughout Montgomery County.
For Super Yummy, the new restaurant would place its combination of made-to-order stir-fry and sushi in the middle of that growing customer base.
What Happens Next
Construction is currently listed to begin in October 2026 and continue into May 2027. No official grand-opening date has been announced, and the construction schedule could shift before the restaurant welcomes its first customers.
For now, the filing provides Conroe, Shenandoah and The Woodlands residents with an early look at another restaurant headed for the I-45 corridor — this one built around the simple idea that everyone at the table can order dinner a little differently.
