New McDonald’s Planned for East Conroe Along Highway 105 as Growth Continues Across Montgomery County

As residential growth continues pushing eastward across Conroe and Montgomery County, another familiar name is preparing to plant roots along State Highway 105. Plans have been filed for a new McDonald’s restaurant at Highway 105 and Crockett Martin Road in Conroe, bringing one of the world’s most recognizable restaurant brands to a rapidly developing stretch of the community.

According to state construction filings, the new McDonald’s will total approximately 4,146 square feet and feature a modern dual-lane drive-thru layout positioned behind the building. Construction is expected to begin Jan. 25, 2027, with completion projected for June 9, 2027. The privately funded project carries an estimated construction cost of $750,000.

For residents in East Conroe and nearby communities, the project represents more than another fast-food restaurant. It signals continued commercial investment along Highway 105 — a corridor that has experienced steady residential growth, increased commuter traffic, and expanding demand for dining and retail conveniences closer to home.

A Familiar Brand Expands Along Conroe’s Growing Corridors

Founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California, McDonald’s has grown into one of the largest restaurant chains in the world, serving millions of customers daily across more than 100 countries. The company became a global powerhouse after Ray Kroc joined the business in the 1950s and helped pioneer the modern franchise model that transformed the fast-food industry.

Today, McDonald’s locations have become deeply woven into the daily routines of many American communities, serving as quick breakfast stops, after-school gathering places, road trip pit stops, and convenient dining options for busy families.

The restaurant chain is widely known for menu staples including the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets, Egg McMuffin, World Famous Fries, Happy Meals, McCafé beverages, and seasonal limited-time offerings that often generate nationwide attention. In recent years, many locations have also incorporated upgraded ordering technology, mobile app integration, curbside pickup, and expanded drive-thru capabilities designed to improve speed and convenience.

Conroe already has several McDonald’s locations serving different parts of the city, including restaurants along Interstate 45, Loop 336, and other major commercial corridors. The addition of a new restaurant near Crockett Martin Road reflects how development activity is continuing to spread farther into eastern portions of the Conroe area as new neighborhoods and infrastructure projects emerge.

Why the New Dual-Lane Drive-Thru Matters

One of the more notable features included in the filing is the restaurant’s planned dual-lane drive-thru configuration — a design that has become increasingly common at newer McDonald’s locations nationwide, as well as other quick-service restaurants.

The dual-lane system is intended to help accommodate higher traffic volumes while reducing wait times during peak breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. For commuters traveling Highway 105, parents navigating school pickup schedules, and residents making quick stops on the way home, the layout is designed around convenience and efficiency.

As traffic counts continue climbing across Montgomery County, many national restaurant chains are prioritizing drive-thru-focused designs that better align with changing consumer habits. Since the pandemic, demand for drive-thru and mobile-order pickup options has remained significantly elevated across the restaurant industry.

The project is also another sign of how quickly the Conroe area continues to grow. As new neighborhoods expand eastward, familiar businesses often follow close behind, giving residents more nearby options for dining, errands, and everyday conveniences without having to drive across town.

Continued Investment in East Conroe

The Highway 105 corridor has increasingly become an area to watch as development activity continues moving east of central Conroe. New housing developments, roadway improvements, and commercial projects have gradually transformed what was once a quieter stretch of the area into an emerging growth corridor.

For longtime residents, projects like this often represent another visible sign of how quickly the region is evolving. For newer residents relocating to Montgomery County, the addition of nationally recognized businesses can signal growing economic confidence and expanded local amenities.

While the project remains in the early stages, the planned McDonald’s adds to the ongoing wave of investment reshaping portions of East Conroe and surrounding communities.

As construction timelines progress and additional details become available, residents can expect to see continued commercial activity tied to the area’s sustained population growth and development momentum.
