Naomi’s Grace and Cy-Fair Fire Department Host Splash Bash to Promote Water Safety in Cypress Ahead of Summer
As summer approaches and families head back to the pool, Naomi’s Grace and the Cy-Fair Fire Department (CFFD) are teaming up to raise awareness about pediatric drowning prevention with a free, family-friendly event aimed at saving lives.
The 2025 Splash Bash Water Safety Event will take place on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Goldfish Swim School–Cypress, located at 24310 Hwy 290, Suite 100. The event will feature interactive water activities, safety demonstrations, ambulance and fire truck tours, raffle prizes, vendors, music from a live DJ, giveaways, and more—all with one mission: to promote water safety education for all ages.
“The goal of this event is to improve water safety awareness and prevent pediatric drownings,” said Ranim Daher, Marketing Coordinator for the Cy-Fair Fire Department. “We believe this event will make a lasting impact by helping families learn simple steps that can prevent tragedy.”
A Serious Problem, A Community-Driven Solution
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drowning is the leading cause of injury-related death for children ages 1 to 4 in the United States. Most child drownings happen quickly and silently, often in home pools, and can occur in less than two minutes without a sound. The CDC stresses that drowning is preventable through layers of protection, including swimming lessons, constant supervision, and safety education. These life-saving strategies are exactly what organizations like Naomi’s Grace are working to bring into communities through outreach, education, and support.

Naomi’s Grace, a local nonprofit founded by Jessica Mollon after the tragic loss of her daughter Naomi in a 2019 drowning accident, is committed to turning her pain into purpose. Naomi passed away after slipping unseen into a family member’s backyard hot tub, and in her passing, she gave the gift of life through organ donation, helping save four other lives. The organization provides scholarships for survival swim lessons, hosts community education programs, and advocates for awareness about water safety throughout the Greater Houston area.
Family Fun with a Life-Saving Message
The Splash Bash will include educational booths and interactive experiences that give kids and parents real tools for staying safe around water. From learning how to use a life jacket properly to exploring ambulances and fire trucks with CFFD personnel, attendees will be immersed in hands-on learning while enjoying water-themed fun, including an inflatable water slide and dunk tank.
“We’re proud to partner with Naomi’s Grace and bring this event to the Cypress community,” Daher added. “It’s an opportunity to bring awareness in a way that’s accessible, engaging, and memorable for both kids and adults.”
Vendors are encouraged to participate by bringing materials or interactive displays that align with the event’s core message of water safety. The Cy-Fair Fire Department will be on-site to support educational outreach and provide demonstrations that help reinforce critical safety practices. Email Ranim.Daher@CyFairFD.org for more information about participating in this event as a vendor.
