Nando's PERi-PERi Coming to LaCenterra in Early February

January 19 2024

Lovers of spicy cuisine, rejoice! Nando's PERi-PERi, the popular Afro-Portuguese chain, renowned for its spicy flame-grilled chicken, is set to open its doors in LaCenterra in Katy on February 5th, according to LaCenterra’s website. This marks another exciting chapter in Nando's US expansion since it first entered the market in 2008.

LaCenterra in Katy soon will experience the unique taste of the peri-peri chili, a spice that Nando's sources directly from local farmers in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and South Africa. This not only gives Nando's PERi-PERi its distinctive zing but also empowers these farmers by providing upfront access to funds, equipment, and crucial seedlings. With their unique flavorings, Nando's chicken is marinated for 24 hours, basted to the customer's flavor and spice preference, and flame grilled.

Today, the brand operates nearly 50 locations across Virginia, Maryland, Washington, and Chicago, and has gained a loyal following. The allegiance to Nando's PERi-PERi isn't just due to the high-quality, mouth-watering food, but also to the friendly service that leaves an indelible mark on its patrons.

Making its Texas debut in the Greater Houston Area, Nando's in Katy is the brand's second location in the Lone Star State, following the Post Oak Plaza location in Uptown that opened in August of 2023.

“Our authentic flavors were born in South Africa but are built for Houston. We can’t wait to welcome Nando’s newcomers, and loyalists who have long lobbied for us to come to Texas, to this fast-growing city known for its incredible diversity and culinary scene,” said John Fisher, CEO of Nando’s PERi-PERi USA in a news release.

At Nando's, it's not just about the food. Each Nando's location is uniquely designed, reflecting the rich African cultural heritage. Original South African contemporary art adorns the walls, adding a unique cultural touch, and an unmistakable warmth to the atmosphere.

Get your tastebuds ready for an international culinary adventure, Katy.
