Mendocino Farms Opens Third Austin Restaurant on South Lamar as Texas Expansion Continues
Austin’s fast-casual dining scene has another option for sandwiches, salads and quick lunches, and this one is part of a much larger Texas expansion.
Mendocino Farms officially opened its third Austin restaurant Tuesday, September 22, at 1100 South Lamar Boulevard, Suite 1125. The new South Lamar location joins the company’s existing Austin restaurants at Arbor Trails and West 38th Street, giving the city three locations of the Southern California-born concept.
For Austin residents, the opening brings another location of a restaurant brand that has moved quickly into Texas while building its reputation around chef-created sandwiches, salads and seasonal dishes. Mendocino Farms now operates 14 restaurants across Austin, Dallas and Houston, according to the company’s current location directory.
A Third Mendocino Farms for Austin
The South Lamar restaurant is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and offers dine-in service, ordering and catering. It sits along one of central Austin’s busiest restaurant and retail corridors, about 3.6 miles from the company’s West 38th Street location and about 5 miles from its Arbor Trails restaurant.
The opening represents relatively rapid growth for Mendocino Farms in Austin. The company entered the Austin market in 2025 and has since established locations at Arbor Trails, 4301 W. William Cannon Drive, and 1106 W. 38th St., followed by the new South Lamar restaurant.

What Is Mendocino Farms?
Mendocino Farms traces its roots to Southern California, where the company was founded in 2005. Over the past two decades, the restaurant has expanded from a California sandwich shop concept into a fast-casual brand with restaurants in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Texas and Washington.
The company said the South Lamar opening represented its 102nd restaurant nationwide at the time of the September 22 announcement. Its current directory shows more than 100 locations spread across six states, with Texas becoming an increasingly significant part of the company's footprint.
What separates Mendocino Farms from a more traditional sandwich shop is its menu approach. The company describes its food as a mix of familiar classics and globally inspired dishes given what it calls a "Mendo twist."
Its ingredient standards include antibiotic-free, humanely raised poultry, cage-free eggs and egg products, fresh produce and locally sourced fresh bread. The restaurant also offers choices designed for a range of eating preferences, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
What’s on the Mendocino Farms Menu?
Sandwiches and salads remain at the center of the Mendocino Farms menu, but seasonal items and changing chef specials are a major part of the concept.
Among the recognizable menu favorites highlighted for the South Lamar opening are the "Not So Fried" Chicken Sandwich, The Farm Club and the Happy Hippie.
The current seasonal lineup also includes a Fajita Steak Salad made with steak, roasted peppers and onions, charred jalapeños, avocado, roasted corn, black beans and jicama, cherry tomatoes and other toppings, along with the returning Seasonal GOAT with Pink Lady Apples. That salad combines chicken, marinated goat cheese, apples, honey-roasted almonds, dried cranberries, hot honey and other ingredients.
Beyond individual meals, Mendocino Farms has built catering and group ordering into its business, targeting everything from office lunches to gatherings with family and friends.
Mendocino Farms Continues Growing in Texas
Austin is now one of three Texas markets for Mendocino Farms.
The company's location directory lists three Austin restaurants, six in the Dallas area and five in the Houston area, for 14 Texas locations overall. That footprint illustrates how far the concept has traveled from its Southern California beginnings as Mendocino Farms continues expanding into major metropolitan markets outside its home state.
Nationally, California remains by far the company's largest market, but the growing Texas presence gives diners in Austin, Dallas and Houston increasing access to the brand without traveling west.
South Lamar Opening Includes Community Giveback Program
The new restaurant is also using its opening months to connect with Austin schools, nonprofits and community organizations.
Through the end of December, Mendocino Farms South Lamar is offering qualifying local organizations the opportunity to hold in-store fundraising events and receive 50 percent back on qualifying purchases, according to the company. The enhanced fundraising rate is part of a program Mendocino Farms offers around newly opened restaurants.
Ahead of opening day, the restaurant also offered a free entrée promotion to customers who joined the Mendocino Farms eClub and selected South Lamar as their favorite location before the restaurant opened. That grand-opening registration deadline has passed, though customers can still join the company's eClub for future offers and perks.

Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with catering also available.
For Austin, the newest restaurant adds another fast-casual choice to an already competitive dining market while signaling Mendocino Farms' continued interest in Texas. After arriving in Austin only last year, three locations are now serving different parts of the city.
