
LSC-CyFair Library Launches 'Color Me Meow' Summer Celebration for Cat Lovers of All Ages
Lone Star College-CyFair Library is pouncing into summer with a heartwarming, whisker-filled celebration: the “Color Me Meow!” event series. In honor of National Adopt-A-Cat Month, the college’s library is hosting a month-long lineup of feline-focused fun, offering educational activities, story times, games, and even adoptable cats for visitors of all ages.
Located at 9191 Barker Cypress Road, the LSC-CyFair Library is a joint-use facility between Lone Star College and the Harris County Public Library System, serving both students and the Cypress community with a wide range of educational resources and public programs.
Families and cat enthusiasts can look forward to “Caturday Events” every Saturday in June. Highlights include:

Cat ‘Purrson’ Party – A playful kickoff on June 7, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., featuring games, crafts, a photobooth, and plenty of “paw-some” surprises.

Pet Friendly Plants Gardening 101 – On June 14, 11 a.m. – noon, attendees can learn about safe plants for homes with curious kitties.

Colorful Cat Café – A special “meet and greet” with adoptable felines from Purr Paws Rescue, happening June 28, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.. It’s a purr-fect opportunity for visitors to meet their future furry friend.
Beyond the weekends, LSC-CyFair’s library will offer Passive ‘Pawgrams’ all month long. Visitors can enjoy cat puzzle tables, relaxing coloring pages, and a themed art library display. For younger guests, Kiddy Cat Story Times will delight children ages 0–6, while older kids can participate in events like RPG gaming sessions for ages 10–12 and an art college workshop for teens 12 and up.

These activities are part of the LSC-CyFair Library Summer Reading Program, running from June 2 to August 2, under the banner “Color Our World.” Participants can sign up at the library’s reference desks or through the Beanstack app, then log their summer reading to earn cool prizes.
