LOVB Houston Returns to the Berry Center Feb. 1 as Pro Volleyball Fever Builds Across Greater Houston

January 28 2026

As professional volleyball continues to gain momentum across Texas, fans in the Greater Houston area are gearing up for a thrilling home showdown as LOVB Houston hosts LOVB Madison on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Berry Center in Cypress. The match begins at 5:30 p.m., with tickets ranging from $10 to $45 available through Ticketmaster.

LOVB Houston, one of the founding teams of League One Volleyball (LOVB Pro), has quickly made a name for itself since the league’s inaugural season kicked off in January 2025. With a deep and diverse roster of Olympic medalists, NCAA stars, and international athletes, the team has been turning heads—and racking up stats—as it powers through the season.

At their January 24 matchup against LOVB Austin, LOVB Houston recorded season highs across the board: 76 kills, 13 blocks, 62 digs, and 94 points. These powerhouse stats not only clinched the win but also positioned the team in the league’s Top 5 for blocks, points, and kills per set.

Leading the charge is an elite lineup featuring U.S. Olympic medalists Micha Hancock (setter) and Jordan Thompson (opposite hitter), alongside standout performers like middle blocker Amber Igiede (University of Hawaii), outside hitter Jess Mruzik (Penn State/Michigan), and libero Justine Wong-Orantes (University of Nebraska). The roster also includes international talent such as Finnish setter Kaisa Alanko and Italy’s Raphaela Folie, bringing global experience and fierce competition to the court.

LOVB Houston is helmed by Head Coach Sanja Tomašević, with support from seasoned coaches Paula Weishoff and Fikret Ceylan. Their leadership has cultivated a dynamic, fast-paced playing style that’s earned the team a strong local following.

Growing the Game in Houston

LOVB (League One Volleyball) was founded in 2020 and launched its professional league in 2025 with six teams, including Houston, Austin, Atlanta, Salt Lake, Madison, and Nebraska. The organization’s mission is to elevate volleyball to the level of other major U.S. sports by investing in professional athletes, community-based club development, and fan engagement.

LOVB Houston plays a critical role in that mission, serving not only as a competitive franchise but also as an inspiration for the next generation of players across the region. With venues like the Berry Center and Fort Bend Epicenter offering top-tier spectator experiences, the team’s presence is helping bring professional women’s volleyball to new heights in Texas.

Tickets for all matches are available now, and fans are encouraged to arrive early to catch warmups, player intros, and enjoy themed fan experiences throughout the evening. For tickets to the February 1 match vs. Madison, visit Ticketmaster.

Whether you're a longtime volleyball enthusiast or new to the sport, there’s no better time to rally behind Houston’s first professional team and experience the excitement of LOVB up close.
