Local Gardening Experts Offer Free Irrigation Class for Katy Area Residents
With temperatures climbing as summer approaches, so will the frequency of watering home landscapes. But how much water does your yard really need, and how can you avoid high utility bills while keeping your yard adequately watered and healthy?
The Fort Bend Master Gardeners will help answer your questions on this important topic with "Irrigation Basics", a free online class scheduled to be held via Zoom on May 19. From 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, Katy area residents are invited to learn how to better manage irrigation methods at home while trying to keep utility costs down.
Advance registration is required. Interested participants can register here. The class will focus on various types of irrigation methods for home landscapes, basic trouble-shooting, and water requirements for plantings.
The class is part of an eight-class Landscape Success online program offered by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Fort Bend County, along with the Fort Bend County Master Gardeners. The program is intended to help create and maintain beautiful home landscapes. For more information about this resourceful program, please visit https://fbmg.org/landscape-success-2023.
