Lamar CISD to Host Teacher Job Fair in Response to Fort Bend County Hypergrowth
In response to hypergrowth in Fort Bend County, Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD), the fastest-growing district in and around Houston, is hosting a Teacher Job Fair on Saturday, March 2. The event is scheduled to take place at Foster High School in Richmond, starting at 9:00 AM and concluding at 1:00 PM.
LCISD is currently the home of more than 44,500 students spread across 48 campuses in 15 municipalities. With projections showing further expansion, the district is actively seeking new staff to fill a wide range of positions across its increasing number of campuses. More than 20 campuses are expected to open during the next decade, including four new schools opening in the fall of 2024.
"The more we grow, the more we need good people to fill teaching positions across the district," noted LCISD Superintendent, Dr. Roosevelt Nivens. "We are proud to develop leaders that inspire innovation and foster growth to support and celebrate every student’s success."
This job fair offers opportunities across nine departments including nursing, teaching, counseling, librarianship, and special education assessment. Prospective applicants are advised to bring several copies of their resume for their one-on-one interactions with Human Resources Recruiters, campus and district representatives.
“This event will help us connect an application to a face and allow us to meet and greet qualified candidates in and around our community,” Lamar CISD Human Resources Recruiter Jose Sanchez-Garcia said. “It will also give us the opportunity to provide guidance, recommendations, and insight to educators interested in joining our team as it continues to grow.”
According to the District, the starting teacher salary for the 2023-2024 school year is $62,500. Job seekers looking for a chance to shape a future generation can register for the job fair on the LCISD website.
