Lakewood Forest 4th of July Celebration Returns With Parade, Pool Party and a Day of Neighborhood Tradition
There's something special about the Fourth of July in Lakewood Forest. Before families head off to evening fireworks displays, many residents start the holiday right in their own neighborhood, gathering with friends and neighbors for one of the community's most anticipated traditions of the year.
The annual Lakewood Forest 4th of July Neighborhood Celebration returns on July 4, hosted by the Lakewood Forest Civic Association and the Lakewood Lightning Swim Team. The festivities begin with a neighborhood parade at 9 a.m., with participants lining up at 8:30 a.m. at the Lakewood Residence Club. Residents are encouraged to join in with decorated bikes, golf carts, floats, cars, trucks, pets and more.
After the parade, the celebration moves to the Lakewood Forest Pool, where families can enjoy music, food, drinks, a watermelon contest and plenty of opportunities to cool off in the Texas summer heat. Organizers say the event is open to all ages and designed to bring the community together for a day of patriotic fun.
For many Lakewood Forest North residents, the event is about more than celebrating Independence Day. It's a chance to catch up with neighbors, welcome new families and enjoy the kind of hometown atmosphere that makes the neighborhood such a special place to live.
