Lakes on Eldridge Pool Temporarily Closed, But Reopening Targeted for Labor Day
The pool at Lakes on Eldridge is temporarily closed following an unexpected order from the Health Inspector—but community leaders are working quickly behind the scenes to reopen it in time for Labor Day weekend.
Angela Morin, the onsite Community Manager for Lakes on Eldridge, shared the news this week, confirming that the closure was due to a fencing-related issue that did not meet code requirements.
“The pool is currently closed as the Health Inspector shut us down for lack of fencing, but I will have an update on this with more information, hopefully Friday,” Morin said in her update to residents.
Fortunately, the community has already secured a variance for the fencing, which gives temporary flexibility under local health code while a more permanent solution is arranged. With that variance in hand, the next step is to refile with the Health Inspector and request a follow-up inspection.

“We did get a variance for the fencing and are working on refiling with hopes to reopen in time for Labor Day,” Morin confirmed.
While this unexpected shutdown comes at a time when many families are hoping to squeeze in a few more swim days before fall, there’s optimism that the pool may reopen just in time for a long weekend of summer fun.
The Lakes on Eldridge pool is a beloved gathering place for residents, especially during Houston’s peak heat season. Morin noted that more information will be shared by Friday, pending feedback from the Health Inspector and follow-up scheduling.
