Let's spread holiday cheer across the Lakes at NorthPointe community with our annual Holiday Decorating Contest!

Each category will have a winner ($75) and an honorable mention ($50).

Categories

WINTER WONDERLAND (WINTER) - When it snows, ain’t it thrilling? Bring a little bit of that arctic bite to Texas! Fill your yard with snowmen and Winter creatures or re-create a Dickens Street scene.

SPIRIT OF THE SEASON (RELIGIOUS) - Light the menorah, set up the Festivus pole, and bring out the manger. Pay homage to the holidays that bring meaning to the season.

SANTA’S WORKSHOP (SANTA) - Santa Claus is coming to town! Celebrate the more playful side of the season with elves, presents, gingerbread men, nutcrackers, and more.

GRISWOLD’S GHOST (TECHNICAL) - This category is for those who want to show off their technical skills. Run up your power bill with lights and cover every inch of grass with inflatables.

FANATIC’S SPECTACLE (THEME) - Want to you show your Texas pride? Need to express your college team spirit? Do you have an elaborate Harry Potter Christmas display planned? This is the category for all the themes that did not fit in the above categories.

INFLATABLES - Bring out the inflatables! Showcase your most eye-catching and creative inflatables to make your home stand out in this lively category.

TRADITIONAL - Capture the timeless charm of the season with classic and traditional decorations. Think twinkling lights, wreaths, and timeless holiday elegance.

BEST KEPT LAWN - Not just about lights! Show off your green thumb by keeping your lawn in top shape. Judges will be looking for the most well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing lawns.

BEST KEPT GARAGE - Don't forget about the garage! Impress the judges with a well-organized and creatively decorated garage space. Let your holiday spirit extend to every corner of your home.

Rules

Resident can only win a prize in one category each year.
Resident cannot win any prize in the same category two years in a row.
Contest judges cannot win a prize.
Decorations must be lit/active between sunset and 11:00 PM during period of judging (December 15).
