Klein ISD FFA Livestock & Project Show Raises Over $618,000, Continuing 57-Year Tradition of Agricultural Excellence

March 03 2026

For families across Klein ISD, the annual FFA Livestock and Project Show is more than a competition — it is a reflection of the district’s long-standing commitment to agricultural education, student leadership, and workforce readiness.

At the 57th Annual Klein ISD FFA Livestock and Project Show, 596 dedicated FFA exhibitors presented an impressive 1,149 projects, ranging from livestock to horticulture, ag mechanics, photography, and agriscience research. The weeklong event once again demonstrated how Klein ISD Agriscience programs continue shaping students into skilled, disciplined, and community-minded leaders.

For homeowners, taxpayers, and local business owners in Klein, this event represents something larger: a direct investment in the next generation of skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, agricultural leaders, and tradespeople who will help sustain and grow the local economy.

$618,316 Total Show Support — $363,650 Raised in Livestock Auction Alone

The Klein community showed up in a powerful way.

The 2026 livestock auction generated $363,650, contributing to an overall show total of $618,316 when add-ons and freezer sale support were included. Funds raised are returned directly to student exhibitors through scholarships or reinvested into future agricultural projects.

While this year’s totals reflect an adjustment from the 2025 record-setting year — which saw $735,784 in total show support — the long-term trajectory remains strong. Over the past five years, the Klein ISD FFA Livestock and Project Show has consistently demonstrated sustained community backing:

  • 2026 Total Show: $618,316
  • 2025 Total Show: $735,784
  • 2024 Total Show: $725,903
  • 2023 Total Show: $667,178
  • 2022 Total Show: $496,313

The steady multi-year growth underscores the community’s enduring belief in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and the value of FFA programs in Klein ISD.

Record-Breaking Moments in the Auction Ring

Even in a year of strong historical totals, new milestones were reached.

A new auction record was set when Keoni Brummond of Klein High sold his Grand Champion Broilers to Mounsey Farms for $25,000, surpassing the previous $11,500 record.

Other record-breaking sales included:

  • Grand Champion Lamb Showmanship – Katy-Lynn Irwin (Klein Oak) sold for $4,500
  • Reserve Champion Swine Showmanship – Reagan Shaw (Klein Cain) sold for $6,500

These moments reflect the dedication students pour into their projects — often months of early mornings, late nights, and disciplined care.

Leadership Voices Reflect Community Pride

“Our Klein ISD FFA Livestock & Project Show highlights the dedication and hard work of our students, supported every step of the way by our committed agricultural science teachers,” said Klein ISD Career and Technical Education Director Deborah Bronner-Westerduin. “We are also incredibly grateful to our community and the many buyers who supported our students through the auction, freezer sale, and add-ons. Your investment goes far beyond a project purchase — it is an investment in the future workforce, leadership, and character of Klein ISD.”

“Thank you to the Klein community, show committee, volunteers, Ag teachers, and FFA students for coming together to make this year’s Livestock & Project Show such a success,” said Klein ISD Career and Technical Education Assistant Director and Show Chairman Amanda Simmons. “Your dedication, teamwork, and countless hours of preparation created an incredible experience that celebrates student growth, leadership, and excellence. We are proud of the hard work and heart displayed by everyone involved and grateful for the continued support of agricultural education in Klein ISD!”

Why the Klein ISD FFA Show Matters

Participation in the National FFA Organization provides students with hands-on experience that extends far beyond the show arena. Through Klein ISD’s Career and Technical Education programs, students develop:

  • Leadership and public speaking skills
  • Technical agricultural knowledge
  • Financial management experience
  • Work ethic and accountability
  • Career-ready competencies aligned with workforce demand

For the Klein community — including Spring, Klein, and northwest Harris County families — the annual FFA Livestock and Project Show represents both tradition and forward momentum.

It is a reminder that agricultural education remains a vital part of Klein ISD’s identity and economic future.
