Kick Back with Live Music in Cy-Fair This Weekend

The My Neighborhood News Live Music Fix series is brought to you in part by Joyce Skala of Cypress Music Scene (CMS), and spotlights local bands and venues in Cypress. CMS is a dynamic Facebook page that brings local musicians together to share information about their upcoming gigs, collaborate and support one another. In addition to being a vital connector in the vibrant music scene in Cypress, Joyce is also the lead singer of HURRY SUNDOWN in Cypress.
This weekend, residents across the Cy-Fair area are invited to kick back and unwind with live music in their own backyard. With a variety of venues and talented musicians ranging from country music or hard rock, Cypress offers something for everyone. So grab your friends and family, and head out to support local musicians while making memories with those you love.

Katie Katy captures audiences with a unique blend of country and rock at venues across the Houston Area.
Ty Laramore, a Baytown native, channels his love for Blues, Southern Rock, and Country Music into soul-penetrating melodies, influenced by icons like Darius Rucker and Keith Urban. Graduating in 2011, he pursued music full-time, sharing stages with Texas Country greats and releasing chart-topping singles like "Fix Your Broken Heart" and "Don't Care About It Now."

Dallas-based Pure Collins is a Phil Collins and Genesis tribute band formed in June of 2018.

CMS Music Fest to enjoy a full day of live music featuring eight local bands like Mike Ryan, Nightbird Tribute Band, and more, along with food trucks, vendor village, and activities like cornhole and axe throwing. Proceeds benefit Cy-Fair Helping Hands and Tunnel to Towers.

Jonathan McCabe, influenced by traditional country artists like Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, returned to music with a hillbilly Bakersfield twist in the J. McCabe band. Performing traditional country music, the band is available for weddings, private events, and company meetings.
Mike Amabile offers a unique blend of Americana, Southern Rock, Folk, Country, and Roots Blues, accompanied by poetic lyrics. His diverse influences range from Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers to Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cash.
The Spicolis, one of the hottest variety/cover bands in Houston since 2008, is an 80s MTV tribute band delivering an energetic show that keeps the dance floor hopping all night.
DJ Dominique Love is a DJ, producer, and artist based in Cypress, specializing in OpenFormat, House, EDM, Urban, and Latin music as one half of "RUSHR."
