Katy Resident Brittany Severin Leads MedRight in Revolutionizing Healthcare Advocacy and Patient Support in Texas
Navigating the complexities of the healthcare system can be an overwhelming experience for many individuals and families. MedRight, Inc., founded by Brittany Severin, seeks to bridge the gap in patient advocacy and care coordination, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need to navigate medical billing, insurance claims, and overall healthcare access.
With over two decades of experience in healthcare operations and revenue cycle management, Severin brings extensive expertise to MedRight, providing patients with the tools and guidance necessary to take control of their healthcare finances and rights.
The Inspiration Behind MedRight
For Severin, the motivation to launch MedRight was deeply personal. Having witnessed firsthand the confusion and frustration that can arise when dealing with medical billing and denied insurance claims, she was determined to create a solution.
"My inspiration for MedRight stemmed from witnessing the confusion and frustration that patients often experience with medical billing. Both personal experiences with family members and professional observations of patients facing unexpected costs and denied claims motivated me to create a solution," she said. "I knew I could use my knowledge and experience to help people navigate this complex system and advocate for their rights."

Severin’s mother’s experience with the healthcare system after becoming disabled had a profound impact on her. Seeing the difficulties her mother faced with billing errors, paperwork, and insurance denials solidified Severin’s resolve to help others in similar situations.
"It became clear that patient advocacy wasn’t just about the numbers on a bill; it was about protecting people’s dignity and ensuring they receive the care they deserve," she explained. Inspired by her father’s words, "Someone has to do it. So, who better than yourself?" she took on the challenge of founding MedRight.
A Personal and Professional Commitment
Beyond her role as a healthcare entrepreneur, Severin is also a wife and mother, balancing the demands of her business with her family life. She and her husband, Nathaniel, have been married for nearly 15 years and moved to Katy in 2021 with their two children, Jackson and Harper.
"Balancing life as a business owner, wife, and mother is certainly challenging, but I have an incredibly supportive family. My husband is my rock, and my children are my biggest cheerleaders," Severin shared. She emphasized that her family is not only her motivation but also a key factor in her decision to build a business that serves the community she loves.

MedRight’s Mission and Services
MedRight functions as a Texas community case management service, working to provide much-needed assistance to individuals struggling to navigate healthcare bureaucracy. The company aligns closely with the goals of the Community Partner Program, which helps connect individuals and families with state benefit programs and healthcare resources. By acting as a bridge between patients, medical providers, and government agencies, MedRight aims to ensure that people receive the care they need without unnecessary financial or administrative burdens.
A core aspect of MedRight’s services is debunking misconceptions about healthcare access. Many individuals believe they must manage everything alone or rely solely on their doctors for healthcare navigation. MedRight educates patients about their rights, available resources, and the importance of advocacy, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
The Future of MedRight
Looking ahead, MedRight has ambitious plans for expansion and service enhancement. Over the next five years, the company aims to expand its reach across Texas to assist more individuals and families in need. MedRight also plans to develop new services tailored to emerging healthcare needs, including specialized programs for chronic conditions.
Strengthening partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies is a priority, ensuring a more integrated healthcare system. Increasing community education efforts is another key goal, helping more Texans understand how to navigate the complexities of medical care. Additionally, MedRight will integrate advanced technology to improve efficiency while maintaining the personalized approach that defines its case management services.

Severin envisions a future where healthcare is more transparent and accessible, eliminating unnecessary barriers that prevent individuals from receiving the care they need. "If I could change one thing about the healthcare system, it would be increasing transparency and simplifying the complex billing and insurance processes. Too many people avoid getting the care they need simply because they don’t understand how to navigate the system," she said.
Giving Back to the Katy Community
MedRight remains deeply committed to the Katy community, where Severin and her family have built their home. The company actively participates in local outreach programs, collaborates with healthcare providers, and advocates for the healthcare needs of Katy residents. Education is a major focus, as MedRight seeks to equip individuals with the knowledge they need to make informed healthcare decisions.
As MedRight continues to grow, its mission remains clear: to ensure that every individual has access to fair and transparent healthcare services. Through advocacy, education, and personalized support, MedRight is transforming the way people navigate the healthcare system, empowering them to take control of their medical and financial well-being.
