Katy ISD Seeks Community Nominations to Name New North Transportation Center
As Katy Independent School District continues to grow to meet the needs of more than 95,000 students, a new facility is nearly ready to roll—and now, it needs a name. Katy ISD is officially accepting naming nominations for the new North Transportation Center, located at 25030 Longenbaugh Road in northwest Katy.
Approved as part of the 2021 Katy ISD Bond, the North Transportation Center is a critical infrastructure addition that will support the expanding northwest region of the district. Construction began in August 2024, and the project is now in its final stages, with a completion date slated for December 2025. The $21,545,000 facility will soon join Katy ISD’s existing network of three transportation centers, helping to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective school transportation for students across the district.
Once operational, the center will serve several fast-growing campuses in the area, including Boudny Elementary, Cross Elementary, Youngblood Elementary, Nelson Junior High, and Freeman High School.
