Katy ISD Names Familiar Leader to Guide Campbell Elementary's Next Chapter
As Katy ISD continues preparing for another school year of growth and achievement, Campbell Elementary families can expect a smooth leadership transition rooted in familiarity, experience and a deep understanding of the campus community.
The district recently announced the appointment of Kristin LaFollett as principal of Campbell Elementary, effective June 8. For many Campbell families, LaFollett is already a familiar and trusted presence. Prior to her promotion, she served as assistant principal at the campus, working closely with students, teachers and parents while helping support the school's longstanding culture of academic excellence.
Her appointment comes at a time when strong campus leadership remains a priority for families across Katy ISD. As one of Texas' fastest-growing school districts, maintaining continuity and preserving campus traditions are important factors for parents evaluating their children's educational experience.
A Leader with Deep Roots in Elementary Education
LaFollett brings more than 23 years of experience serving students and families across the Houston region. Throughout her career, she has held both instructional and leadership roles in elementary and junior high settings, including positions at Griffin Elementary and Killough Middle School in Alief ISD.
Her extensive background in curriculum, instruction and campus leadership provides a strong foundation as she steps into the principal role at Campbell Elementary.
“I look forward to bringing my experience in Katy ISD’s outstanding elementary schools to Campbell,” LaFollett said. “I am committed to supporting the incredible ACE traditions while continuing to help our students grow and thrive.”
For families, that commitment signals a focus on preserving the values and traditions that have helped make Campbell Elementary a highly regarded campus within Katy ISD while continuing to support student achievement and growth.
Building on a Strong Foundation
Elementary principals play a vital role in shaping campus culture, supporting teachers and fostering relationships with families. Because LaFollett has already been serving the Campbell community, many parents and staff members are likely to benefit from the continuity her appointment brings.
Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski emphasized the importance of leadership that prioritizes both student success and strong community relationships.
“Kristin LaFollett and Elizabeth Paz are strong leaders who understand the importance of building robust school communities centered on student success and relationships with families and staff,” Gregorski said. “Their experience and commitment to excellence make them outstanding choices to lead these campuses into the future.”
What Campbell Families Can Expect
As the new school year approaches, Campbell Elementary families can expect a leader who already understands the campus, its students and the traditions that have helped define its success.
For many parents, the transition represents more than a staffing announcement. It reflects Katy ISD's continued investment in experienced educators who understand that successful schools are built through strong partnerships among students, teachers and families.
What Happens Next
LaFollett officially assumed her role as principal on June 8 and will begin leading campus preparations for the 2026-2027 school year. Families can expect opportunities to connect with her and learn more about campus goals as back-to-school activities approach.
As Campbell Elementary enters its next chapter, district leaders say the focus remains unchanged: helping students thrive while maintaining the strong sense of community that families value.
