Winter Storm Conditions Continue Across Southeast Texas
According to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston office, dangerous wind chills between 0°F and 15°F are expected through Tuesday morning, along with hard freeze conditions each night. Some areas may remain below freezing for up to 72 consecutive hours.
Icy roads remain a major hazard, particularly northwest of the Houston metro area. Sleet, freezing rain, and wind gusts up to 35 mph are contributing to poor driving conditions and the potential for power outages.
Officials urge everyone to avoid unnecessary travel, protect pipes, bring pets indoors, and monitor updates from local authorities.
In times of dangerous winter weather, community preparedness and support can make all the difference. Whether you're checking on a neighbor, staying off icy roads, or seeking warmth at a local shelter, every step helps keep the Fort Bend County community safer through the storm.
