Why Attend a Katy ISD Board Meeting?

Attending a school board meeting allows residents to stay informed on how policies and budget decisions affect the school system—regardless of whether they currently have children enrolled. Former parents, local taxpayers, and community members all play a role in shaping the direction of public education. From school zoning to staff planning and student safety, the Board’s decisions impact the wider Katy community.

Those who wish to speak on posted agenda items during the Public Comment portion must:

  • Email publicrecords@katyisd.org by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24 with their name, agenda topic, mailing address, Katy ISD residency status, and whether they have children in Katy ISD.
