Katy ISD Board of Trustees to Hold Regular Meeting on December 9
The Katy ISD Board of Trustees will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, December 9, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Board Room of the Katy ISD Education Support Complex, located at 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, Texas 77494. The Open Meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m.
For those unable to attend in person, a free livestream service will be provided, allowing the public to view the meeting online at Katy ISD Board Meeting Livestream. The complete agenda documents will be accessible on the day of the meeting via BoardDocs.com.
During Katy ISD Board of Trustees meetings, the public has an opportunity to speak, but intentions must be filed in advance. To participate in the Public Comment/Citizen Participation segment of this meeting, individuals must sign up by sending an email to publicrecords@katyisd.org by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024. Attendees who successfully sign up and arrive 15 minutes before the meeting will have the opportunity to address the Board.

The agenda includes several key items for discussion and approval. Notable items include the recognition of new principals for Elementary #47, Elementary #48, and Beckendorff Junior High, as well as the Katy ISD Meritorious Service Award. Board members will also review and potentially approve several contracts, budget amendments, and financial reports, including decisions related to the naming of new schools, the construction of Elementary School #49, and renovations at Cinco Ranch High School.
A public comment section will be held, allowing residents to address the Board on posted or non-agenda items. The meeting will also cover updates on career and technical education, as well as a report on donated items to the district. Following the open meeting, the Board will convene in closed sessions to discuss legal consultations and personnel matters, including a student grievance.
To successfully engage in the Public Comment/Citizen Participation part of the meeting, remember to sign up via email and arrive early. The next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2025, and a Board Work Study Meeting is planned for Monday, January 13, 2025.
