Katy Christian Ministries and PowerHouse Church Host Food Fair to Aid Hurricane Beryl Victims
In response to the devastating effects of Hurricane Beryl, Katy Christian Ministries (KCM)—a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through community generosity and faith—and PowerHouse Church Katy, are stepping forward to host a Disaster Relief Community Food Fair on Tuesday, July 9th.
The event will take place at PowerHouse Church Katy, located at 1818 Katyland Dr, Katy, TX 77493, beginning at 9 AM and continuing until supplies last. The Food Fair, open to all members of the community, aims to provide immediate relief to those affected by the hurricane. Vital supplies such as food, tarps, bottled water, and more will be distributed.
Established in the 1980s by nine interdenominational churches, KCM has expanded through the years, now partnering with 65 coalition churches, businesses, and community members across the Katy and West Houston area. Despite the challenges of Hurricane Beryl, KCM continues its mission, which includes a Social Services Department providing emergency financial aid and resilience programs, a food pantry working to eradicate hunger, and a Crisis Center housing both the Domestic Abuse Center and Sexual Assault Center.
The upcoming Disaster Relief Community Food Fair is just one of the ways KCM and PowerHouse Church are striving to support the community in the wake of Hurricane Beryl. Both organizations open their doors to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, and do not require participation in religious activities to access their services. While the hurricane has undoubtedly brought devastation, the Food Fair is a testament to the strength, unity, and resilience of the Katy community.
