John Crump & Anthony Hay Intersection Under Repair This Week in Williamsburg Colony
Street repairs are officially underway this week at the intersection of John Crump and Anthony Hay in Williamsburg Colony, where a major water main break—previously caused by Ezee Fiber utility work—left behind significant road damage.
According to Crest Management, the management company for Williamsburg Colony, the intersection slab being repaired is roughly one-quarter of the entire crossing and at least one foot deep. Crews spent the day Monday digging out the damaged section, and barrels are now in place to guide traffic through the work zone.
With two areas reduced to one lane of traffic, residents who typically use this route as a cut-through to Morton Road, Kroger, Walmart, and other nearby destinations may experience delays. Neighbors are strongly encouraged to detour via Elrod Drive for the time being.

What Residents Need to Know
- Repair Location: Intersection of John Crump & Anthony Hay
- Timeline: Ongoing this week (Week of Sept. 30)
- Impact: One-lane closures in two areas; traffic may back up
- Detour: Use Elrod Drive to bypass the construction zone
This effort follows a major water main break from Ezee Fiber, which caused prolonged damage to the street surface. The community has waited for months for this repair to begin, and while the work is welcome, it will likely cause minor traffic headaches throughout the week.
Residents are urged to plan ahead, avoid the intersection if possible, and use alternate routes to ensure safety for all commuters and construction crews.
