Jarrell ISD Launches Jarrell Achieve Academy, a New Non-Traditional High School Focused on Graduation Success
Jarrell Independent School District is taking a meaningful step to support students who need a different path to success with the launch of Jarrell Achieve Academy, a new non-traditional high school designed to help at-risk students stay engaged, earn credits, and move confidently toward graduation.
The new campus was unanimously approved by the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees during a special meeting on February 3, 2026. To ensure a timely opening, the board also approved the use of existing portable classrooms located near Jarrell High School, allowing the academy to begin serving students without delay.
Jarrell Achieve Academy was created with the understanding that students face different challenges and that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work for everyone. The academy offers an accelerated credit model and flexible structure, providing students with a chance to recover credits and redefine their academic journey while remaining connected to their home district.

The program is specifically designed for students ages 15–21 who are currently enrolled at Jarrell High School and have completed at least one full semester. Eligibility includes students who are fifth-year seniors, those at risk of not graduating within their TEA cohort, students who have previously dropped out, pregnant or parenting teens, students who have been retained, placed in DAEP multiple times, qualify for McKinney-Vento services, or meet other criteria through administrative discretion.
Enrollment at Jarrell Achieve Academy requires an application, which students can obtain through their high school counselor or assistant principal. The application process ensures that students who enroll are matched with the supports and structure best suited to their individual needs.
Set to open in August 2026 for the 2026–2027 school year, Jarrell Achieve Academy reflects Jarrell ISD’s broader commitment to student-centered education, dropout prevention, and graduation pathways. By expanding options beyond the traditional high school model, the district is working to ensure more students cross the graduation stage prepared for their next chapter.
