Inventec to Open Manufacturing Facility in Katy Near Katy Asian Town
Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Inventec is preparing to establish a new U.S. presence in Katy, with work set to begin this fall on its first local facility. According to state and investor filings, the company has leased approximately 540,000 square feet of dry warehouse space at 23623 Colonial Parkway in Park 10 Ninety Nine, near Katy Asian Town.
Phase I Renovation Already Underway
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filing shows that Inventec’s Phase I investment involves a $5 million renovation to convert 39,390 square feet of the leased space into an electronic component assembly facility. Work is scheduled to begin on September 15, 2025, with completion expected by October 31, 2025.
Investor documents also project up to $55 million in leasehold improvements over the life of the company’s 10-year lease, reflecting a long-term commitment to Katy and suggesting additional buildout phases beyond the initial remodel.

A Global Technology Leader Chooses Katy
Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, Inventec has grown into a major player in the global electronics industry, employing more than 30,000 people worldwide. The company reported NTD 646.2 billion in annual revenue in 2024 and operates across Asia, North America, and Europe.
Inventec is widely known for producing computers, servers, notebooks, and mobile devices. Over the years, it has expanded into cloud computing, wireless communication, IoT, AI-driven enterprise solutions, automotive electronics, and green energy technologies. Subsidiaries like Inventec BESTA specialize in multilingual translators, tablets, and specialty electronic devices.
Why Texas?
Industry reports indicate that Inventec’s decision is part of a broader $85 million U.S. investment plan, approved by its board of directors in April 2025. Texas was selected for its stable electricity grid, proximity to Inventec’s operations in Mexico, and suitability for AI server assembly, which requires significant power resources.
The Katy site is being leased under a 10-year agreement, according to investor filings.

Part of a Larger Trend in U.S. Manufacturing
Inventec joins other Taiwanese tech manufacturers—such as Foxconn, Wistron, Wiwynn, and Quanta—that have expanded or established facilities in the U.S. in recent years. Industry experts suggest that this move reflects a growing effort by major original design manufacturers (ODMs) to strengthen client relationships, diversify global supply chains, and mitigate risks from evolving trade policies.
For Katy and Greater Houston, Inventec’s arrival signals another step in the region’s emerging role as a hub for advanced manufacturing and technology investment. While the immediate scope of the project focuses on electronic component assembly, the long-term presence of a multinational firm like Inventec could create opportunities for local suppliers, workforce development, and further economic diversification.
