According to updates released by Fort Bend County Precinct 1 and shared at a public mobility meeting on September 16, 2025, dozens of infrastructure projects are actively advancing through planning, design, or construction thanks to funding from the 2023 Mobility Bond.

From road widenings and drainage improvements to new traffic signals and safer school access, the projects aim to tackle longtime concerns about traffic congestion, safety, and storm resilience. County officials emphasized that these improvements are not just about concrete and asphalt—they’re about improving daily life for residents and preparing for growth.

Key Road Projects Moving Forward

• Skinner Lane Improvements (Segments 1–4)

  Spanning from W. Bellfort to Mason Road, Skinner Lane is undergoing a phased redesign. Crews are straightening curves, adding in-line stormwater detention, and adjusting alignments to avoid wetlands in Segment 4 by reducing speed limits to 35 mph for safety.

• Pool Hill Road Expansion (Segments 1–3)

  Major upgrades are underway to transform Pool Hill Road into a future-ready boulevard. Design teams are working to align segments with other nearby projects and add detention ponds. Segment 2 will likely share a pond with the Rogers Road project, emphasizing smart coordination across corridors.

• Hunt Road Corridor (Segments 1–3)

  Stretching west of FM 359, Hunt Road’s three segments are in different phases, from final alignment reviews to bridge replacements. A preliminary engineering report is expected this fall, with TxDOT involvement on a new bridge and road closures to ensure long-term safety and flood mitigation.

• Fulshear Bend Drive

  Surveying and geotechnical work is underway for this connector between Woods Road and FM 359. Drainage planning is a top concern, and the county is working closely with local developers to finalize details.

Traffic Signals & Safety Improvements

Precinct 1 is making targeted upgrades at high-traffic intersections:

• A new traffic signal at Candela Heights and FM 359 is in the design phase with TxDOT.

• The intersection of Cinco Ranch Boulevard at Falcon Landing Boulevard is also slated for a new signal, expected to be advertised for construction in October 2025.

Brandt Road and McCrary Road Projects Near Completion

• Brandt Road is in its final construction phase, with lighting agreements approved for the roundabouts along the corridor.

• McCrary Road is being expanded into a four-lane concrete boulevard. Despite some earlier utility relocation delays, completion is expected in October. The project includes a temporary signal at FM 359 and improved drainage systems.

Grand Parkway (SH 99) Frontage and Main Lane Projects

Significant work is also underway along the Grand Parkway corridors:

• Southbound Frontage Road from Westheimer to Fry Road is under construction, with utility relocations in progress through early November.

• Multiple design projects on northbound and southbound frontage roads are moving toward 95% plan submission by October 10, with construction “letting” scheduled through summer and fall of 2026.
