Huckleberry’s Breakfast & Lunch Expands Into Greater Austin, Bringing Bayou-Inspired Brunch to Cedar Park and Round Rock Area

Austin  /  Austin
June 22 2026

Residents in the greater Austin area may soon have a new spot to gather over beignets, chicken and waffles, and Louisiana-inspired comfort food.

Huckleberry’s Breakfast & Lunch, a growing restaurant chain known for its Louisiana-inspired comfort food and all-day breakfast menu, has announced plans to open its first location in the Cedar Park-Round Rock area. The restaurant will mark the brand’s debut in the greater Austin market as part of a broader Texas expansion that also includes new locations planned in McKinney and Allen.

For residents in Cedar Park, Round Rock and North Austin, the move brings another breakfast and lunch option to a region where brunch culture continues to thrive—and one that comes with a very different personality than the typical café or diner.

Bringing a Taste of the Bayou to Central Texas

Walk into a Huckleberry’s and the company wants guests to feel like they've left Texas behind for a few hours.

The restaurant's theme draws heavily from Louisiana, with Zydeco music, bayou-inspired décor and a menu built around Southern comfort food. The concept has grown steadily since its founding and now operates 35 locations across California, Texas, Nevada and Oregon under Heritage Restaurant Brands.

“Huckleberry’s Breakfast & Lunch is more than a brunch restaurant, it’s a daytime escape from the ordinary,” said Greg Graber, CEO of Heritage Restaurant Brands. “The moment you walk in, you’re transported to the Louisiana bayou. We can’t wait to introduce that experience to our guests in Austin – they are going to love it!”

While the company describes its food as "Southern Cookin' with a California Twist," the menu is unmistakably rooted in the South.

Beignets, Chicken and Waffles, and Plenty of Cajun Flavor

The restaurant has built a loyal following around a menu that blends traditional breakfast favorites with Cajun and Creole influences.

Among the most recognizable items are the Mardi Gras Beignets, filled with sweet vanilla cream and served with huckleberry sauce, along with the Gold Medal Chicken & Waffles, a combination of hand-breaded chicken tenders and Belgian waffles.

Other breakfast offerings include:

  • Cajun and Crab Cake Benedicts
  • Bananas Foster French Toast
  • Stuffed French Toast
  • Bayou-inspired breakfast skillets
  • Signature omelets featuring ingredients like andouille sausage, shrimp and Creole sauce
  • Biscuits and gravy platters

Lunch options continue the Louisiana theme with dishes such as Fried Green Tomatoes, Creole-style Louisiana Catfish, Shrimp Po' Boys, Monte Cristo sandwiches, burgers, chicken gumbo and jambalaya rice.

Even the drink menu leans into the restaurant's personality, featuring specialties like Swamp Iced Tea, Southern Peach Iced Tea and Strawberry Lemonade.

A Growing Presence in Texas

The Austin-area location follows the brand's early expansion into North Texas, where it now operates three restaurants.

Company officials say the new Cedar Park-Round Rock restaurant represents the next step in bringing the concept to more Texas communities. Site selection is now underway, although a specific location and opening timeline have not yet been announced.

The expansion reflects continued growth in suburban communities surrounding Austin, where new residents and commercial development continue to drive demand for restaurants and gathering places.

Why It Matters for Cedar Park and Round Rock

New restaurant announcements happen frequently across Central Texas, but breakfast-focused concepts often generate particular interest because they quickly become part of residents' routines.

Whether it's families grabbing breakfast after weekend sports, coworkers meeting before the workday begins or friends gathering for brunch, locally popular breakfast spots often become community fixtures.

Huckleberry’s appears to be positioning itself for exactly that role, with a menu designed around comfort food, generous portions and a casual atmosphere.

Another factor that sets the chain apart is its operating model. Huckleberry’s is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., focusing exclusively on breakfast and lunch service rather than extending into dinner hours.

According to the company, that approach helps support work-life balance for restaurant operators and employees while allowing the brand to concentrate on the meal periods where it has found the most success.

What Happens Next

The company says work on site selection for the Cedar Park-Round Rock restaurant is beginning immediately.

Once a location is finalized, residents in the greater Austin area will get their first opportunity to experience the brand's mix of Southern hospitality, Louisiana-inspired dishes and brunch-focused menu that has helped fuel its expansion across multiple states.

For now, the announcement adds another name to the growing list of restaurants investing in Central Texas and reflects the continued growth of the Cedar Park, Round Rock and North Austin communities.
