How Harris County Precinct 4 Residents Can Report Road, Park, and Community Maintenance Issues

February 20 2025

Did you know that Harris County Precinct 4 residents can help keep their neighborhoods safe, clean, and well-maintained by reporting issues such as road repairs, fallen tree branches, and park maintenance needs directly to Precinct 4 officials? Whether it’s a pothole on your daily commute, broken playground equipment at a local park, or an unkept restroom at a community center, Precinct 4 makes it easy for residents to submit concerns and ensure that public spaces remain safe and accessible for everyone.

How to Report an Issue in Precinct 4

Residents have multiple ways to report non-emergency issues that require attention from county officials:

Harris County Precinct 4, one of four precincts in the county, serves over 1.2 million residents - including YOU! - maintaining more than 1,600 miles of roads and nearly four miles of bridges, overseeing 10 community centers that welcome over 700,000 visitors annually, and managing 55 parks spanning more than 14,000 acres of greenspace.

From potholes and drainage concerns to damaged signs and litter cleanup, the county relies on residents to help identify areas that need maintenance. The more reports submitted, the faster issues can be addressed.

Keeping Parks and Trails Safe and Enjoyable

Led by Commissioner Lesley Briones, Precinct 4 is home to a variety of parks and trails that provide recreation for families, fitness enthusiasts, and nature lovers. If you notice a damaged walking trail, broken benches, or restroom facilities in need of cleaning, you can report the issue using the same Precinct 4 service request system.

Some of the most popular parks and trails in the Cypress and Katy areas include:

  • John Paul Landing Park – A scenic nature preserve featuring a large fishing lake, walking trails, and a learning center.
  • Cullen Park – One of the largest parks in the area, offering trails, sports fields, and picnic areas.
  • Bear Creek Pioneers Park – A vast park with hiking trails, sports fields, a small zoo, and playgrounds.
  • Mason Creek South Hike & Bike Trail – A great trail for walking, jogging, and biking in the Katy area.
  • Zube Park – A popular spot for sports, picnics, and a mini-train ride attraction.

Maintaining Precinct 4’s Community Centers

Precinct 4 also manages several community centers, which offer classes, events, and social activities for residents of all ages. If you visit a center and notice something in need of repair—such as leaking roofs, heating/cooling issues, or broken equipment—reporting it ensures that the facility remains in good condition for everyone to enjoy.

Some key community centers in the Cypress and Katy areas include:

  • Richard & Meg Weekley Community Center – A hub for fitness programs, community events, and educational workshops.
  • Bear Creek Community Center – Offers art classes, wellness programs, and senior activities.
  • Katy Community Center – A gathering place for family-friendly events, meetings, and recreational activities.
  • Hockley Community Center – Features programs for seniors, fitness classes, and craft workshops.
