Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital Wellness Bazaar Blends Community, Shopping, and a Mission to Give Back
Community support meets cutting-edge care this September at the Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, where neighbors are invited to gather for the United Way Wellness Bazaar on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the hospital’s 3rd Floor Sky Plaza.
The come-and-go event is free and open to the public, featuring a daylong lineup of local vendors, handmade goods, self-care products, and feel-good community energy. But at the heart of it all is a purpose: raising awareness and support for the 2025 United Way Campaign, a nationwide initiative with deep roots in the Houston region.
More Than a Bazaar — A Celebration of Shared Impact
Visitors to the bazaar can expect a warm, festive atmosphere where shopping with local businesses directly contributes to United Way’s mission of improving health, education, and financial stability for families in need.
Founded in 1887, United Way has grown into one of the most trusted nonprofit networks in the country. In Greater Houston alone, it funds hundreds of local programs that support early childhood development, workforce readiness, mental health services, housing stability, and emergency relief. Through annual campaigns like this one, United Way empowers communities to take care of their own—together.

And for Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, that’s a mission worth hosting.
“This event is about more than vendors and shopping,” said Rama Kroma with Houston Methodist, who is helping to coordinate the event. “It’s about creating space for people to connect, care, and contribute. It’s a day of community, through and through.”
A New Kind of Hospital, A Community-Focused Approach
Hosting this event is particularly meaningful for Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, the region’s newest and most technologically advanced healthcare facility, which officially opened its doors in March 2025. As the ninth hospital in the Houston Methodist system, it brings more than just state-of-the-art care—it brings jobs, innovation, and community partnership to the Cypress area.
Located at 24500 Northwest Freeway, Cypress, TX 77429, the hospital spans 600,000 square feet and currently operates 100 beds, with the ability to expand to 400 beds as services grow. By design, it’s a “phygital” facility, blending AI-powered technology with traditional bedside care. That includes:
- Voice-activated smart rooms
- AI-driven fall detection and monitoring
- Robotic assistants for food delivery and logistics
- Digital kiosks, real-time navigation, and self-check-in
- Virtual nursing teams to assist with documentation and patient education
And behind all the innovation is a human-centered philosophy. “Innovation in nursing isn’t just about technology,” said Chief Nursing Officer Caroline Mascarenhas, “It’s about enhancing patient-centered care, reducing administrative burdens, and personalizing each patient’s experience.”
Hosting a community-driven fundraiser like the United Way Wellness Bazaar aligns with that philosophy, providing space for hospital staff, patients, families, and local residents to join together—not just for care, but for cause.
