Harris County ESD 48 Seeking Volunteer Safe Sitter Instructors

Do you have the passion to educate? Harris County ESD 48 is seeking volunteers to join their Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Team as a Safe Sitter Instructor. Training is online and covered by the department. Uniforms are provided and other CRR volunteer opportunities are available. Safe Sitter is one of Harris County ESD 48's most sought-out programs that is completely free to the community, thanks to generous sponsors.
This course is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone while watching younger siblings or babysitting. Students learn how to practice important safety skills, handle emergencies, care for children, and treat illnesses and injuries. Some classes even teach CPR. In addition, students learn important business skills such as how to screen jobs, set a wage, and work with employers. Safe Sitter classes are FREE and are held at HCESD 48 Administration Building.
