Harris County ESD 11 Expands Emergency Medical Coverage with Three New 24-Hour Ambulance Stations in Spring and Northwest Houston

January 20 2026

Residents across Spring and Northwest Harris County are seeing expanded emergency medical coverage as Harris County Emergency Services District 11 (HCESD 11) Mobile Healthcare opens three new 24-hour ambulance stations, reinforcing its growing footprint as Texas’ largest ambulance-only emergency service district.

In partnership with local fire departments, HCESD 11 has added Stations 602 and 603 in Spring, followed closely by Station 601 in Houston, marking three new facilities in the first month of 2026 alone. The expansion brings the district’s total to 15 fully staffed 24-hour stations, in addition to ambulances deployed around the clock from its main campus in Spring.

The first two stations—Station 602 at 2900 Cypresswood Drive and Station 603 at 22310 Springwoods Village Parkway—opened January 13 in collaboration with the Spring Fire Department. Both locations were strategically selected to improve coverage and reduce response times in rapidly growing areas of northern Harris County.

“This opportunity was made possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of our crews and Spring Fire Department,” said Chief Executive Officer Jordan Anderson. “These two new 24-hour ambulance stations are designed to give our community more coverage enabling our crews to respond to calls more efficiently and faster.”

Beyond response logistics, the facilities also reflect an investment in first responders themselves. Station 602 features a newly renovated space, while Station 603 is a completely new build. “An added advantage is that station 602 is newly renovated with all the bells and whistles and station 603 is a brand new building entirely so our crews will be well taken care of as they take great care of our community,” Anderson said.

Just one week later, on January 20, HCESD 11 announced the opening of Station 601 at 8639 Fallbrook Drive in Houston, established in partnership with Cypress Creek Fire Department. The location extends coverage deeper into Northwest Harris County, an area that continues to see population growth and increased demand for emergency medical services.

“This is the third new 24-hour station we have added in the first month of 2026. This means faster response times for our community and better coverage,” Anderson said. “We have partnered with Cypress Creek Fire in Station 601 to strategically position our crews to provide the best and fastest care possible to those we serve in Northwest Harris County.”

Together, Stations 601, 602, and 603 strengthen a district that already serves a 177-square-mile area and more than 700,000 residents across northern Harris County. HCESD 11 responds to over 65,000 calls annually, consistently ranking among the top EMS providers in Texas and the nation for response speed, patient satisfaction, and quality of care.

Behind the scenes, emergency calls are coordinated through the district’s Communications Center, known as Control, which holds ACE Accreditation as a Center of Excellence from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch. The designation reflects rigorous standards in emergency communications and supports everything from community trust to workforce recruitment and retention.

As growth continues across Spring, Springwoods Village, and Northwest Houston, HCESD 11 leaders say the recent station openings represent both a response to current needs and preparation for the future—ensuring advanced life-saving care is never far from the people who rely on it most.
