Georgetown Colony 1 News from the Board - May 2023
Yard of the Month
Congratulations to homeowner Judy Peck for earning the “Yard of the Month” for April. Your hard work in maintaining a manicured lawn and sprucing it up with springtime flowers paid off. You were the envy of your neighbors for a whole month.
GC1 HOA Assessment Fees
HOA fees were due before February 1. Homeowners who wish to set up installment payments or discuss their delinquent accounts can contact Chaparral Management.
Sidewalk Slips, Trips and Falls
Sidewalks in Georgetown Colony are the homeowners responsibility. Please level your sidewalks to reduce risk of slips, trips and falls. We could use your help creating a list of contractors who can assist with concrete removal/leveling. Contact Chaparral Mgmt with any suggestions.
Pest Control
Even the mosquitos are big in Texas. Our HOA Board of Directors is soliciting bids for mosquito control services to reduce those bitey bugs. If you have any recommendations that would help us a lot. Contact Chaparral Mgmt with any suggestions.
48 hrs.
In Harris County, it is illegal to store your vehicle in the roadway for more than 48 hrs. Any vehicles that are in violation will be reported.
Neighborhood Stop Signs
STOP sign road markings renovation is complete in Georgetown. If you see vehicles running the stop signs, please contact the Harris County Sheriff's non-emergency line to report. A contract deputy will monitor the stop sign for traffic violations.
Home Improvements
Please submit an Architectural Review Application for HOA review and approval prior to starting work. Exterior paint, window replacement (Grids requested), backyard patio, fencing, etc require Architectural review by your HOA.
Colonies Community Pool
The Colonies Neighborhood Center (corner of Addicks-Satsuma and W. Little York) has been acquired by our MUD102 district. Now, everyone throughout The Colonies has the right to use the public community pool. An announcement regarding pool Registration information and fees will be made available before opening day on Memorial Day weekend. Trident Aquatics will provide regular pool maintenance during the transition process.
Serving the community
There are a couple HOA projects that could use your help. Work can be either hands-on or contracted out with your oversight. If you are interested in working on community oriented projects please contact any of the Board members or call Chaparral Mgmt for more information.
