Gems of Service: NCL Cypress Gems Chapter Honors Graduating Class for Philanthropy
Recently, thirty-one young women in the senior class of the Cypress Gems Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. were recognized for their outstanding philanthropic service. At a formal event held at the Omni Hotel Houston on February 18, 2024, the Cypress Gems graduating class of 2024 were presented by their families and honored for their contributions to their chapter and their community.
National Charity League is a mother-daughter service organization committed to fostering the mother-daughter relationship through community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences. The Cypress Gems chapter formed in 2014 and is comprised of girls attending Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods, Cypress Christian, and Concordia Lutheran. Alongside their mothers, the 2024 class performed over 4,798 hours of community service.
Their work has benefitted multiple non-profit organizations such as Avanti Senior Living, Camo Rescue, Boys and Girls Country, Camp Hope, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, Cy-Hope, Cypress Lucky Mutts, Giving Gown, Habitat for Humanity, Houston Food Bank, Inspiration Ranch, Memorial Hermann Cypress, Mercer Botanic Gardens, Methodist West, Reach Unlimited, Santa Maria Hostel, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and TLC – Two Lives Changed.
