A fun, memorable spring break is just around the corner without even having to leave the Greater Houston area. Here are a few ways you can enjoy the time off with your family without breaking the bank.

Pack a picnic lunch and a blanket, then load up your family favorites like a kite, a soccer or dodge ball, bubbles, books, binoculars, craft kits, paints and canvases - anything you would enjoy doing while outside. 1. Go Camping at a State Park: Budget friendly, wholesome family fun is just a short car ride away. Pack up your family tent, sleeping bags, hot dogs, s'mores supplies, flashlights, fishing poles and a few other essentials and you're on your way to making life-long memories with your family. Don't have a tent? No worries - many state parks offer cabins and screened shelters.

2. Soak in Some Sun in Galveston: Catch some waves while soaking in the sun in Galveston, a short drive from the Houston area. With many family friendly restaurants along the Seawall and The Strand, enjoy some fresh Gulf seafood or a juicy Texas beef burger, or pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on the beach!
