Fort Bend County's Rutvi Chauhan Shines as Miss Magnificent at the 47th Annual Mrs. Universe Pageant

October 16 2024

Fort Bend County's own Rutvi Chauhan has come home with more than just a couple of souvenirs from her journey to South Korea. The American beauty was named sixth in the world and received the title of "Miss Magnificent" at the 47th Annual Mrs. Universe Pageant, which took place in Incheon from October 2-10, 2024.

The Mrs. Universe competition, a unique event that focuses on recognizing the accomplishments and power of women aged 18-55, has one primary goal: to empower women to use their beauty for the sake of a significant cause. Each year, the international event takes between 7 to 10 days, with women from different countries engaged in various initiatives under the banner "Against Violence", with past editions focusing on matters like domestic violence and human trafficking.

Chauhan, a physical therapist, model, and actor, competed against over 100 contestants from around the world. In an emotional statement, she said, "Winning MRS. UNIVERSE USA, representing my nation, my heart, and the power of women has been the most rewarding experience."

Much more than a beauty pageant, Mrs. Universe encourages its participants to join hands across cultural lines and contribute positively to global issues. The women who compete are not just models of physical beauty—they are mothers, professionals, and advocates on the front lines of change. Participants must have their own careers, families, and be committed to causes that help others, ensuring that participants are mature women who have made significant achievements in their lives and have used their own efforts to become independent.

Chauhan, a mother of two children, credits her success to her supportive family and friends, especially her husband, Yashesh. She said, "As a little girl, I grew up watching icons like Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, and Priyanka Chopra on the Miss Universe/World stage, imagining MYSELF UP there ONE DAY. My incredible MISTER made sure I lived it in MRS."

In addition to the honor she felt representing her country on the international stage, Chauhan spoke of the joy she felt when pageant organizer Sava Tsekov hugged her and named her his personal favorite, inviting her into his family. "It was a moment that made all the hard work, all the sacrifices WORTH it," Chauhan said.

Despite her worldwide recognition, Chauhan insists this is just the beginning. As a new ambassador for her host country and an advocate against violence, Chauhan plans to continue to use her platform to foster international cooperation and effect lasting change. "This is only the beginning of a new venture, a new life, and the start of something even more beautiful," she concluded.
