Fort Bend County to Celebrate 19 New Families on National Adoption Day, November 21
On Friday, November 21, the halls of the Fort Bend County Justice Center will be filled with smiles, happy tears, and new beginnings, as local families and community leaders gather to celebrate National Adoption Day. This year, 19 individuals—including children as young as 2—will have their adoptions officially finalized in a moving event that honors the power and promise of family.
The celebration, organized by Child Advocates of Fort Bend in collaboration with the 328th, 387th, and 505th District Courts, is more than a legal milestone—it’s a joyful moment of connection and healing for children and the families who step forward to love them unconditionally.
Each finalized adoption brings not only stability and safety, but also a renewed sense of hope, belonging, and the promise of a brighter future. For the children gaining permanent homes this week, it marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with care, connection, and opportunity.
Standing Together for Children in Need
Behind every adoption is a village of support. That’s why this event brings together a wide network of local partners who play vital roles in the journey from foster care to forever family. Groups such as ARTreach Katy, Arms Wide, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Crime Stoppers of Houston, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, H-E-B, and many others are joining forces to celebrate and uplift families on this special day.

Fort Bend County leaders, including Commissioner Dexter McCoy and Sugar Land Mayor Carol McCutcheon, will also share remarks, applauding the courage of adoptive families and the resilience of the children being adopted.
Making a Difference That Lasts a Lifetime
While the event itself marks a major milestone, the need behind it is ongoing. Across the U.S., more than 100,000 children are waiting in foster care to be adopted. In Texas alone, that number is nearly 4,200.
Earlier this year, 11 children were adopted from foster care in Fort Bend County—a testament to the life-changing impact of community awareness and advocacy.
For those considering adoption, the event will also provide information and resources to help potential parents understand the process and begin their own journeys toward growing a family.
Driven by Compassion, Guided by Advocacy
Child Advocates of Fort Bend (CAFB) has been walking alongside children and families for more than three decades, helping those affected by abuse, neglect, and trauma reclaim their voices and futures.
