Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Pet Pantry Drive-Thru Jan. 20

January 17 2024

Fort Bend County pet owners needing assistance with providing pet food for their furry friends are invited to stop by a Pet Pantry Event hosted by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies, staff, and volunteers will distribute free dog and cat food during the drive-thru event slated for Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 9 a.m. at the Gus George Academy, located at 1521 Eugene Heimann Cir, Richmond, Texas 77469.

No appointment is required, and residents will be served on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Residents are asked to remain in their vehicles while pet food is placed in the residents’ trunks.

Sheriff Eric Fagan, who is a dog lover, says many citizens rely on pet food pantries. He is glad his office is partnering with the Houston Humane Society once again to assist Fort Bend families who can no longer afford to provide for their pets.

"Caring for and nourishing your pet can be stressful when you don’t have the means to buy dog or cat food. We want to help Fort Bend County residents through rough times,” said Sheriff Fagan. “This is just one small way we can extend a helping hand to struggling pet owners.”
