Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Provides Update on Road, Sidewalk, and Signal Projects
Fort Bend County Precinct 1 officials convened on May 19, 2025 to review the latest progress on more than 20 local infrastructure projects, ranging from road widening and bridge replacements to sidewalk upgrades and traffic signal installations. The updates cover both mobility bond initiatives and Grand Parkway (SH 99) improvements, with many projects located in or near Fulshear and Katy.
Major Road Construction Projects
Greenbusch Road (Gaston Rd to Westheimer Pkwy)
This $8.4 million reconstruction project replaces an aging asphalt road with a concrete upgrade and a new bridge. Construction began in January 2025 and is scheduled for completion in June 2026. A new traffic signal at Spring Green and Pine Mill Ranch is included.
Huggins Drive (FM 359 to Katy Fulshear Road)
The $6.6 million project features a partial replacement and partial new roadway, along with new utilities. Construction began in April 2025, with expected completion in April 2026. Right-of-way acquisition is complete, and pipeline relocation agreements are in progress.
McCrary Road (FM 359 to East-West McCrary)
This 4-lane boulevard project started in April 2024 and is expected to finish by September 2025. All right-of-way has been acquired, and utility relocations are nearly done. A temporary traffic signal is already in place at FM 359.
Brandt Road (McCrary to Mason Rd)
Phase 1 is complete, and final work on Phase 2 is underway. A street lighting agreement was approved in April 2025.
