Fort Bend County Continues Full Passport Services Amid Federal Closures, District Clerk Confirms

October 14 2025

As questions mount amid ongoing federal government shutdown concerns, Fort Bend County District Clerk Beverley McGrew Walker is assuring local residents that all passport services provided by the Fort Bend County District Clerk’s Office remain fully operational.

Residents in need of new passports or renewals can continue to rely on the county’s two passport office locations — one at the Justice Center in Richmond (1422 Eugene Heimann Circle) and the other at the Sienna Annex in Missouri City (5855 Sienna Springs Way). Office hours for both sites are from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., with appointments strongly encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome but will be accommodated only between scheduled appointments, depending on availability.

The announcement comes in response to a growing number of inquiries about whether the federal shutdown might impact local passport services. “Certified passport agents will accept both new and renewal passport applications on form DS-11 at the fair and at our offices,” Walker shared, emphasizing the county's continued ability to support residents' travel documentation needs.

Walker also confirmed that the District Clerk’s Passport Fair will take place as scheduled on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 8:00 A.M. until 12 Noon at Kerala House (1415 Packer Lane, Stafford, TX 77477). This special community event will offer another convenient opportunity for Fort Bend residents to apply for or renew their passports, with certified agents on-site.

Additional services and important reminders:

  • Passport photos will be available on-site for $15.
  • Accepted payment methods:
    • Application fees: Check or Money Order only.
    • Acceptance fees: Credit or Debit Card only.
    • Cash is not accepted.

Applicant requirements include:

  • All applicants, including minors, must appear in person.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by both parents. If one parent is unavailable, a completed DS-3053 form or notarized letter of consent along with a copy of their ID (front and back) is required.
