Fort Bend County Animal Services Partners with Cy-Fair Animal Hospital for Free Spay/Neuter Clinic This Month

December 04 2023

Fort Bend County Animal Services is partnering with Cy-Fair Animal Hospital to offer no cost spay/neuter service for eligible Fort Bend County residents’ cats and dogs.

On December 6, pet owners are invited to bring their dogs and cats to Fort Bend County Animal Services at 1210 Blume Road in Rosenberg. Limited appointments for the December 6 spay/neuter clinic are now being offered between 8:00 AM at 4:00 PM and can be requested by emailing nocostspayneuter@fortbendcountytx.gov or calling 281-342-1512

To participate in the program, the pet owner must have a valid photo ID with a Fort Bend County address. Also, eligible residents must be 65 years or older, OR be enrolled in any of the following programs:

  • CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Plan)
  • Fort Bend County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP)
  • Free Lunch Program
  • HUD Section 8 Housing
  • Major VA Disability
  • Medicaid
  • SNAP (Food Stamps)
  • SSD (Social Security Disability)
  • SSI (Supplemental Security Income)
  • TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
  • WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children

According to the Fort Bend Department of Animal Services, spaying/neutering pets helps to reduce spraying and marking, roaming, and aggression, as well as lowers the risk of cancers, decreases overpopulation and increases lifespan up to 3 to 5 years.

Note that there are limited number of spots available at each event, and you must have an appointment to participate. Contacting Animal Services does not guarantee an appointment. Please note that all social distancing measures will be in place for spay/neuter events.
